your going to reason with a 5 year old?

yeah, you can tell from her face that the cop's used a couple of cans of pepper spray on her.
...I wonder if shes a blood or a crip.

I think that the police did what they had to.
If i was the teacher I would have slapped her silly and then thrown her out the window!

version 3,
Alright, serious answer.
1. When she was in the office, I would have shut her in there, barred the door, and called her parents.
2. I would have told the parents the options, that we felt calling the police was the only option. I would have asked the parents advice and explained the severity of the situation.
3. I would have done as the parents asked. If that meant locking the child in the office all day until she calmed down, or until the parents could arrive, that would be best.Tough call.

this thread is done
"Do you remember me?" one of them asks the girl. "I'm the one who told your mom I'd put handcuffs on you."
mom said it was okay

i heart you too ;)
the Gamorrean Guard would've just eaten her

maybe the school should counter-sue the parents. they are responsible for the child and she destroyed a lot of things.
i hope the school has a good defense. I've seen too many good teachers lose their jobs because of stupid kids and stupid parents who love money.
- tehgee0
i havent read this whole thing - all i knwo is too many parents dont discipline thier kids cuz they want to be thier friends - i have a friend like 25k in debt cuz she buys her kid every little thing she asks for - its INSANE
- scarabin0
let's sue the tv networks who raised the kid, the school for not being able to handle the kid, the parents for being retards, the police for handcuffing her, and the candy manufacturers that fueled her tantrum
- scarabin0
make sure to sue the grandparents too, since they birthed the parents
- Fanco0
okay. obviously you are making fun of my comment.
but it is true. legally the parents are responsible for their child. look it up.
if a kid goes to the mall and steals, who has to pay up? the parents. final.
- version30
sue Fanco, it's his fault ;)

i'm just kidding fanco

Let me play devils advocate here:
So you would lock a 5 year old child in a room?!? All day?!? Omg I can't believe you would treat a child like that...what if she found a pair of scissors and cut herself and bled to death? You can't leave a 5 year old child alone...especially one who is that visibly upset!
Ok back on a serious note...wtf, so a 5 year old kid had handcuffs put on her...why is that such a big deal? Vormboat thinks that the handcufffs will emotionally scar her for life...when I'm betting this is one of the first times an adult has actually followed through with dicipline in this little girls whole life. Handcuffs are not that big of a deal. You have to be able to look at the other side of this coin. If they hadn't restrained her with handcuffs then the other option to remove her from this room was to physically pick her up and move her which could have caused her much more harm. Lets say that she struggles, falls and hits her head...handcuffing her insured her safety as well as keeping this situation from possibly getting more out of control.
Kids these days are out of fucking control, the police and educators have no ability to correct behavioral issues short of counseling them. Some of these parents...and I don't know if this is the case here...are just waiting for an excuse to sue educators or law enforcement which happen to be two of the most financially weakened branches of our society. The saddest part is that the main reason for the altercations is because they don't take enough interest in their kids to either help them or simply raise them correctly, so they act out. And by tying the hands of educators and law enforcement these kids slowly get it in their head that when they act out and don't recieve punishment then that action becomes ok to them.
My puppy does the same thing...she pissed on a bed once and no one was there to catch it...so she starts thinking that because she didnt get in trouble for it, then it must be ok. So she does it again...this time I'm right there and I scold her for it. She hasn't done it again. These kids need to be told 'Little _____ if you do _____ then ____ is going to happen'. If the kid does it...then that result must follow...or they will start to lose faith in what you say...see Bam Margera.

--------------------------------Im sorry dude, I couldn't let this go.....
to reply to each #:
1)yes, lets leave her in an office to do even more damage...that makes sense, not only damage to the office, but potentially doing damage to herself.
...hell just for kicks why don't we just lock her up into the janitor closet...im sure she can find plenty of chemicals to clean up her act there...har har...2)this is just too simple to argue... so pretty much the consensus is that the parents need to do a better job to prevent theirt daughters behavior in public....therefore if they aren't doing a good job to begin with ....you want to go ask for their advice? even if the situation was that severe? thats what law enforcement officers are for... its call police academy...they go to training...of course they don't get trained for all situations but im sure they can come up with a much better solution then her seemingly bonehead parents.
3) combine comments #1 and #2 together...and Alex what are your questions???
... its all love here, gotta love contructive argument...no hard feelings to anyone

my bad ...i didn't see that blackmail kinda replied the same as i did, but before i did...
