For those of you who excuse her action because she is 5 is a sure fire way of embedding in her at such a young age that she does not need to accept responsibility for her own actions. As a result we all live in a fuc*ed up world from too many people who were brought up this way.
As for her family and trauma that she might be experiencing at home, I do not not see what this has to do with handcuffing her at this time. At that moment it became imperative to restrain the child from hurting herself, hurting someone in the area or from doing further damage. After she has settled down and some days go by THEN this would be the time to investigate as to what the root of the problem is.
SHE WAS HANDCUFFED! BIG DEAL! It should be scary but she was NOT hurt! This is the same people who think a leashed barking dog is considered "torture". To much.

my bad ...i didn't see that blackmail kinda replied the same as i did, but before i did...

If she has physiological problems, or family issues (abuse, molestation, etc) this needs to be investigated but at that very moment, she obviously needed to be restrained.
Nobody here is saying that she may not have deep rooted problems but we are just saying that those types of problems does not mean you can lash out and act like this without being restrained.
Handcuffs are not torture and is not a punishment! They were put on her to stop her from further destruction! Thick heads.

hey hands of jaline...til she joins, or she finds a new partner...imma have to still lay smack down for our girl.

my point is simply, in this country, as a school, if you if spank/strike a child, you're going to get sued.
as far as restraining the child, and removing him/her from the classroom until the parents/guardians can pick them up - i fully support that.

valid points, cola.
i was merely objecting the way in which people tend to jump to conclusions about cause and effect. that was much more disturbing to me then the deed of handcuffing the child. i can imagine there was no other choice at that very moment, altho i would have exhausted all other less violent options, imo.
i am glad you did not point fingers here.

we put it down for ya's...ain't no one do it better than us yo!

cops aren't fucking babysitters. i'd handcuff her ass too.
and her parents.

yeah, just seed the anger. a 5 yrs old in handcuffs - this is by far the most stupid thing i have ehver seen.
- Nac0
maybe the school should counter-sue the parents. they are responsible for the child and she destroyed a lot of things.
i hope the school has a good defense. I've seen too many good teachers lose their jobs because of stupid kids and stupid parents who love money.

-------------------Fanco...i honestly don't believe the first part of your comment to be the best solution, but it is your opinion. I don't see money being the catalyst to heal problems in society...especially ones in school/domestic...etc.
However I do applaud the scond half....a lot of good teachers do get lost because of parents being incapable of teaching, or finding resources to instruct their kids down the right respectful path.

Interesting, I consider myself a scientist/realist. I'm not a racist merely making an observation, funny how a few threads ago you're calling a five year old cunts and bitches now you're calling me a racist. You obviously do not know the meaning of the word so look it up a repost and kona you're still a jerk now you're a jerk that lacks individuality, lackey jerk.

---------------------------so scientifically speaking..you being a realist would see it as a noble thing to say something about peoples work ethic when we are talking about an article?
I think you need to become something else, because I don't think you understand the definitions of which you are defining yourself brother.

i can't believe your ignorant finger pointing reply.
so without stressing my own points to you, answer this one question please.
when is that lttle bitch old enough to recognize her own actions?
because in my opinion, i bet she knows when she wants to play, but not clean up and what different foods she likes to eat or the ones she'll cry about
she was disrupting a public environment.
personally, i think she was treated fairly, I would've smacked her...hard.
- vburo0
and pascii made exactly the point.. resorting to adult manners of punishment and restrictions only further seeds trauma and anger (and thus violence sooner or later).

kona, if you'd like to refrain from the use of sarcasm, when refuting my arguments, i'll be happy to debate with you. i'm all for seeing others views, you apparently are all for smearing your contender with fecetious banter.

remember when that 5 year old shot the other 5 year old in michigan? Not all fivers are innocent, is my point.

i got handcuffed by 5-year old before. see what happened was my grandfather left me and my brother this mansion in his will. the mansion was worth millions. so what i did was pretended to be a ghost to keep everyone out so that my brother's family would stay out and i got to keep the house, sell it, and keep the money. it was working fine until these bunch of kids came in and started to snoop around the house. i was scaring them good, especially when one of them and their dog was making this huge sandwich. they stacked so much meat and vegatables. i didn't think it would stay up but it did. i waited until they had it as tall as it could get. it was taking way too long so i jumped out to scare them.
well to make a long story short, i kill everyone of of those kids and their two dogs when they got too close to figuring out my scheme. well i thought that they were all dead. one of them was in a coma and woke up 5 years later. then he told the police what had happened and i was arrested a week later. now that i think about it, it wasn't a 5-year old that handcuffed me. the police officer must've been in his mid 30's.
