Everytime I visit the sneakers thread, I'm reminded 90% of people have shitty, unoriginal, completely undaring taste in everything

I got laid off in early August, which was perfect as I was already planning a 3 month trip to South East Asia starting in October.

Then I get a call from a recruiter for a managing director position at a very successful agency in NYC.

A week ago I had an initial interview and told them my plans, and overall I was pretty flip during the conversation.

I'm flying out of SF in about a week and yesterday they called me back and asked me to do another interview.

It's a great position and they want to fill the role immediately, BUT, I haven't gotten an offer and now I wonder... if I'm offered the job, should I accept or go on my vacation????

    Any advice appreciated.

    • was your initial interview with the recruiter or the agency? It seems that the choice to go or stay is based on how likely an offer will be.Gnash
    • sounds like you want it -- "great positions" don't come up that often and you may be able to negotiate an extended trip laterGnash

my good buddy absolutely despises cops - so ask him why, and he basically gave me the best example of why cops are so fucked up in America. why the cops literally have created a war against their community

he basically was around 20 yrs old and was home drinking with a couple girls. his roommate was sleeping on the couch. all of a sudden, very loud knocks on the door, roommate wakes up and goes open the door. they grab roommate (assault him) throw him to the ground in the yard and cuff him. at least 4 other officers entered the home and drew guns on anyone in house forcing them to ground face first etc. well anyway, my buddy had his hands up while this cop is pointing a gun at him, and his dog started freaking out. well the cop is like, 'control your dog!', so he goes to grab his dog and the cop says, 'hands up!'. so my buddy is like to you want me to control the dog or not? another cop then assaulted my friend and the dog tried to defend him. the cop then just shot and killed his dog right there on the spot.

here is the kicker, the cops were actually at the wrong house the entire time. and when they left they charged my friend with a felony assault of an officer b/c of his dog.

in America, we have an brute-force armed gang that views the average citizen as a threat - yet is tasked with protecting that citizen

    • If only cops had some sort of secondary incapacitating device that wasn't lethal.DRIFTMONKEY
    • notice every time a cop makes a mistake, the victim of the mistake gets the blame. the cop gang protects itself always and never ever admits faultbliznutty
    • Yeah they file charges in an attempt to cover themselves from the liability.yurimon
    • tell your friend to listen or call into this show http://logosradionet… "rule of law show" eddie craig has youtube vids also. show helped me understandyurimon

    • Is hating all cops the same as hating a race for a past trespass? thinking out loud that some racism is probably a survival instinct based on expdeathboy
    • same for cops if they only deal with poor minorities creating crime that likely will try to kill them. hard not to think all smilesdeathboy
    • naturally as humans we group things. easy to see how natural hate and racism is on both sidesdeathboy

So a bit of an update on the neighbor who's life I saved a couple weeks ago.

I just found out last night that the guy and his girlfriend OD'd a few days ago in the city and he died. wtf. I thought maybe, just maybe, OD-ing in one's own front lawn and being brought back from the dead would save them.

I just saw the kid and gave him a wave like a week ago. Fucking crazy.

My 7 year old is being taught about WW2... being half Japanese this is messing him up.In true English propaganda its being boiled down to "goodies and baddies".

There is a generation being taught about the holocaust before they can walk across the road unaided .....
