Development agencies?

Hello

Can anyone recommend a good development agency/group of tech heads to develop an online platform - possibly using Django/Python? I'm thinking of a team somewhere in Europe (for ease of travel and timezones) but any suggestions welcome!

Greys on screen

Hi there.

I need a way of testing a range of gray colours for on screen use. I'm trying to find the best single grey colour, that is close to the brand's pantone grey colour, that will look okay on New monitors, old montiors, iPhones, etc... I know that every screen will render greys a bit differently.

The client is v particular and we need to do due diligence rather than picking a grey that looks ok on our screen. (I imagine the conversation as... "Yes, we've tried everything and this colour is going to work the best for you...")

Are there any emulators for this? Do I have to run a test on a load of hardware? Anyone done something like this before?

Thanks!

Where to advertise design projects?

Where do designers find jobs and what's the best way of advertising briefs? Are there any networks t people use?

A friend of mine has a number of smallish web projects, mainly bands and recording artists, some really well known and wants to know how to get the right people hooked up with the right job (ie. how good would it be to design a website for one of your favourite performers?).

Any suggestions?

Normal in Shoreditch

We just made this for the Poke hack day. The brief was 'make your local area better' so we made a site to find normal things in this un-normal place...

Save the Herne Hill velodrome

It's a local issue, but still pretty important to a lot of Londoners, so thanks for reading...

Please join us to help stop the destruction of the oldest cycle track in Britain. The future of the 1948 Olympic Cycling Championships venue is looking bleak as the site is under-funded and rapidly deteriorating. It provides an exceptional resource for cyclists and the local community and the loss of it would be tragic as it is one of the facilities that makes our area special.

Herne Hill Velodrome is one of the best cycling tracks in the UK and it is the last remaining finals venue from the 1948 Olympic Games. There are only ten open-air cycling circuits in working order in the country, and it is one of the facilities that makes our area special. The site’s users range from local schools and kids clubs to professional racers and serious enthusiasts from across the London area and beyond.

Bradley Wiggins, the three-time Olympic gold medallist, began his competitive cycling career at the Velodrome which is still used by the British Cycling Federation for developing cycling talent and encouraging grassroots interest.

The team behind the campaign is led by a group representing local residents and cycling clubs. The aim is to find a way to secure the future of the site and make it a viable long-term facility for all including local residents and schools.
