I sent a pdf to a client and they sent back a screen shot:

Default to page other than index Jul 1, 08, 12:10 a.m.

I want to put up temporary page up that loads up instead on the index.htm.

I think it can be done by changing the htaccess file but I do not know what to search for on google.

Any help?

before I start: I am not that experienced with PHP and server side management.

I have been asked to set up a page that has a newsletter sign up form.

This will literally be a single input field and a submit button.

I have gone to change the code so it works for me but am stumped when I need to change:
'emailSignup.dat'; // file to write to

Should this be a database name? Table name?

Any help would be great, or a link to a simple sign up form.
