Sleep Apnea of the Day
- monospaced0
I don’t have it, but I was worried I might and monitored my sleep for awhile. I do have acquaintances that had sleep apnea and both individuals cured it completely by losing weight. The idea of being on a machine while you sleep is terrifying to me.
- It's fucking awfulfaxion
- I still wonder if I have it because I am still tired and I know I snore loudly regularly.monospaced

There are also devices (kinda like mouthguards) which are a LOT less invasive than those fucking horrendous machines. I've very probably had it for years - always tired - but never wanted to stump up the $$ to get tested / pay for the kit OR use one of those machines.

lose weight! or get a cpap machine.
- Haha. It’s not as easy as all that. I weigh ~150lb @ 5’10” and suffer from SA symptoms. Definitely helps if you’re not overweight, but it’s not just a fat thinghardhat

got it... have a machine / mask etc... good times
To be clear - I sleep amazing w/my gear (and my wife oddly enough likes the white noise created by it - she wakes up in a panic at times if she doesn't hear it thinking I'm dead... "no, baby - I'm just not wearing my mask at the moment... calm the fuck down... I love you.".
The only downside is waking up w/strap marks across my bald head... I take blood thinners for my heart which for some odd reason helps said strap marks stick around for a good 2+ hours which leaves me looking a bit odd if I have to venture in public.

I finish my first year with it. It really improved my daily concentration and energy.
Snoring apart to be annoying is dismissed as a fat or old people joke. But in reality there are other causes and a lot of health problems related to it from diabetes to mental health related issues like depression.
my snoring was so bad I felt so tired even if I slept all night. A few years back I had a car accident because I was so tired during the day and I slept in traffic.
In my case my jaw is shorter than normal, the doctor says the asian community has this problem and they in large part thin and in shape.
It is funny see them more in pop culture
The prices for those machines are too expensive in my opinion, around 3k in canada. and masks are around 300$.
New machines are no different from a clock and they dont make any noise at all, unless there is an air leak.

googled it. they sell fancy gear.
and they don't know much about it, looks like something they discovered and are now trying to heal.the lack of deep sleep could be the trigger instead of the symptom. I would take a 3 nights vacation in nature. sync your inner clock to the sun (sounds hippy but I think I got that from youtube huberman skater dude)

Going for the test today, get a machine to then get results. I don't necessarily feel 'tired', I just get sleepy during the day :)
Wife says i snore hard, but doesn't hear me gasping for air. Oh, getting old sucks.
