Don't know if anyone is hooked to this game but I'm going absolutely nuts for it since it came out. It's simply brilliant - to go freely in the western world of this game and do whatever you want is something I wanted to do since I was a kid (fan of cowboys).
Here are some crazy good in-game screenshots:

yes its quite something

The sky and weather lighting is ridiculous. Something I've always dreamed about translating into a video game one day. Feels like a ps5 game.
anyway, there's a vid game thread for this.

It's a really nice looking game.

the execution is so good, visually and conceptually comes together and I'm not even out of the first four hours yet. Controls are a bit clunky and goofy but suppose I'll get used to them over time. I may need to upgrade to ps4 pro now.

Yeah Im many hours into it. I think im close to the end of chapter 3. We recently moved into that house near St Denis.
The game is awesome when you really give it some time, but the beginning is so damn slow, and the controls so sluggish, I can definitely understand why so many people were turned off to it at launch.
My only real gripe with it is the story. At the point Im at now, it feels really aimless. The gang is just doing random missions to earn money, it doesnt really feel like its going anywhere. Especially Arthur. He almost doesnt even really have a story in this game. I thought RDR1 with Marston was a LOT more interesting. But overall the game is amazing. Old west porn for sure.
- Wait I might be on chapter 4. I cant remember.CygnusZero4
- Also no real main villain which is really bothering me.CygnusZero4
- That's going to change, trust me..
I'm in chapter 6.SteveJobs - So I have to wait til the end of the game for the story to get good? Yay.CygnusZero4
- Yeah, it's a small complaint of mine as well, but overall it makes up for the lull that is the first few chapters.SteveJobs

I also can't get enough of this game. It's insane, I love everything about it. I spent an hour last night hunting and fishing and loved every second of it. Some of my screenshots:

Had to push the saturation on a few of these to match my tv's output, and downsize them. Wish I didn't have the map on there though!
That journey up to the mountains and back probably ranks one of my favorite gaming experiences to date. As usual, a photo doesn't usually do the experience justice without the sounds and living, breathing world around you, but here's some of my best moments:

A few mates and I have been abstaining. We’ve hired a remote place in the Aussie bush for the weekend. It has a cinema projector though and we’re taking the PS4. Can’t wait.

The things that people were complaining so much about when the game came out, the overly realistic nature of it, turns out to really be the best part of the game. Even stupid stuff like having to brush the horse doesnt really add much to the game, but it does give a sense of immersion that all adds up. You dont even need to do all that extra stuff much.
Some of that stuff you can completely skip if you want, like all the camp upgrade stuff, but its cool that its there for people that really want to sink their teeth into it.
I get the sense that these guys paid attention to some things that nintendo did with breath of the wild because this does feel like a more realistic version of that game. Obviously this game is a hell of a lot more complex and deep, but i do get a weird botw vibe from it.
- By 'people' do you mean you?Nairn

Just completed the main story. Wow, well done R*.
Without spoiling anything, I think I understand a bit more why there's so much emphasis on taking your time with the game and spending so much time at camp.
I started off slow and then rushed through the main story to open up West Elizabeth and kinda regret it in hindsight but it was still a great experience.
Having said that, buggiest game and worst controls and cover control, in any game, ever. Horrible. "No, I don't want to open that drawer, I want to sleep", "No, I didn't want to tackle that old lady, I wanted to mount my horse". "I'm in the canoe, why is the game prompting me to get into the canoe?" - aaand restart. (so many times these things have happened)
To me it's a testament to just how good the good is that many people are able to overlook the bad. Hopefully there's tons of patches coming.

It's amazing how much screenshots I've been making in this game. I'm a filmmaker and seeing this sort of cinematic experience all built up in this game is outstanding.
I have completed the story. Sort of rushed it after chapter 5 (I bet you all know when exactly). I'm not feeling bad about rushing it tho, there's still plenty to do in the open world. Sometimes I just ride along and experience what happens along the road. For example, I give myself my own missions like hunting or bounty hunting, exploring rest of the map, finding hidden spots, seeking treasure.
These last several days I've been working on my beard! Drinking hair tonics, sleeping and just waiting for it to grow out.
