One of the things I love about this show is it’s structure of the episodes. This might be an age thing because it makes me a bit nostalgic for the TV of the 80s and 90s; but I really like the mission of the week with the over all arc creeping along in the background set-up.. It’s like space A-Team or Space Knightrider.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good 8 hour story, well told and executed; but the bite-size stories that let us explore the world/galaxy he’s operates in, is brilliant.
- Agreed.brandonp
- True, it also makes the series a bit repetitive to binge watch (what I sort of did). A weekly dose and the wait leading up to it must be much more enjoyable.spl33nidoru
- Love it either wayspl33nidoru
- Yeah, I can see how it could be like that. I'm going through it weekly, so maybe that's part of the reason it's giving me the nostalgia glow for old TV.Wolfboy
- Totally.spl33nidoru

idk, I should note this, as watching this series, it's somehow closer to the Star Wars "mood" than any major feature released, after Rogue One ofc
- Apart from baby yoghurt there isn't some new George Lucas dancing ferrits every 2 minutes. i suppose one good series is a plus.PhanLo
- yes for sure, wainting on that Obi Wan series tho' toografician
- Favreau is ridiculous btw, the imagination on that man, he must be a real Jedi no doubtgrafician
- not to mention the "ending credits" with those amazing concept art pieces!grafician
- idk, like I said, this series feels very "crafted" somehow, it's all in the detailsgrafician
- there isn't one episode that let me down, the continuity and consistency is off the charts on this onegrafician
- can't wait to meet Ahsoka Tano next week!grafician
- I've been watching it with my 11yo son and his reactions indicate that The Mandalorian is def. his equivalent of me with the original trilogy.evilpeacock
- Also, my 11yo twins both liked Rogue One far more than the last two trilogies.evilpeacock
- ^the kids are alright then mate!grafician
- It feels a lot more like the role playing game, which i likescarabin
- @evilpeacock - I agree (and on Rogue One, by far the best recent SW movie).fadein11

Another absolutely solid episode.
Man, this show can do no wrong.
- SO THAT'S HOW HE EATS AND DRINKS WITHOUT TAKING HIS HELMET OFgrafician

They upped the production quality big time. crazy for a tv show
- can't wait for Foundation from Apple, imagine the budget on that with Apple's unlimited moneyzgrafician
- but yes, def, crashing that ship and those spiders, haven't got a clue how they did pulled that ofgrafician
- because clearly the ship is real as a setup, not to mention those docks and the imperial shipgrafician
- plus the animatronics on the little yoda must be insane to be able to shot closeups like that with it and still feel real afgrafician

- So much crammed in that ep.
I proper geeked out. Been rewatching the Mandalorian specific Clone Wars and Rebels eps.thumb_screws

Yup. Katee Sackhoff is still hot.
- Awesome episode!inv
- Agreed, but man ... that ship of his. Makes the Falcon look like a refitted Enterprise fresh out of spacedock.Continuity
- The ship (along with his armor) was shiny in the first episodes. Cool to see that it is turning into the ‘worn future’ look that SW is famous for.inv
- yep, it's getting a right beating now.fadein11
- I'm still in awe of just how damned fun this show is, and I'm not really a SW fan.Continuity
- The Razor Crest is like a Firefly Mk IIi_monk

- yup those the shots I was talking about...grafician
- I see the new order in there...what's the timeline for the Mandalorian?grafician
- It's set five years after Return of the Jedi and before the Force Awakens.PhanLo
- just before the First Orderfadein11
- Shouldn't more people have known Yoda?misterhow
- he was in exile on Dagobah after the Clone Wars.fadein11

Is that the first time graffiti has been shown in the Star War Universe? Funny cameo from Dave Choe at the fights, sould see his style all over the walls.
- wasn't that C3PO in the graffiti there?grafician
- Theres a character in Rebels, Sabine Wren who graffs. She's Mandalorian too and may make an appearance in Mandalorian.thumb_screws
- ^Cheers!PhanLo
- Rebels and Clone wars are definitely worth checking out for Mandalore backstory. Heap of clone wars eps set on Manadalore. And the final clone wars eps are...thumb_screws
- ...good for understanding why the Mandalorians are scattered.thumb_screws
- I'll need to give em a watch in winter lockdown. Catch up on the story. :-)PhanLo
- clone wars can be a slog, first few seasons are really targeted and kids.
https://bit.ly/323kL…thumb_screws - yep clone wars and rebels are actually really entertaining series and give loads of back story.fadein11

GREAT episode!
- Yeah, the references to previous SW films and characters was great. Anakin's podracer engine and R5 still having the oil spurt from A New Hope!face_melter
- yup, the easter eggs were impressive throughout. It was a great start to the season. Just hope they develop the overall plot quicker and make it less aboutfadein11
- weekly self contained stories. Although I'm not that fussed to be honest, it's a fun weekly bit of escapism.fadein11
