What do you have on (if anything) while you're working?
If my work is mentally non-taxing I'll listen to a bit of radio – usually BBC 6 Music or have a listen to my Discover weekly playlist on Spotify.
If I need to really concentrate I'll go with instrumental stuff. Things like a bit of Mogwai or there's a great 30 min piece of music by New Order that they wrote to play at a Peter Saville retrospective exhibition in 2003.
What about you lot? Any particular favourite genres, artists or albums?

And vapourware stuff:
- For really concentrating - usually I find my playlist/podcast has finished, it's silent, but I've still got my headphones on...shapesalad

I don't know if it's something that might work for everyone or something I got accustomed to from working in studios with radios, but I find anything works as long as the speakers aren't in front... I have a mixing setup at home and it's distracting as fuck when i'm not working on music. I set up a set of speakers on my turntables (off to the side) that I can switch to... it really helps, can have music loud enough to be enjoyable but less earwormy when my heads full of code.
Saying that I tend to listen to mostly instrumental stuff anyway - here's a random stream of stuff that came to mind that has got me through all-nighters:
^^ forgotten what i've pasted already, but i'm imagining a lack of drums is a theme.

Personally I'll listen to a lot of shoes like Fabio/Grooverider, Uncle Dugs, BankBeats, Essential Mixes... tonnes of my old d&b, jungle, house, techno, rave mixes I've collected over the years...
If you're into electronic music Rinse FM has a huuuuge selection of downloadable shows, mixes and podcasts up on soundcloud.com/rinsefm - endless content, it's great.
