"The Studio sits at about $3000 which might sound high but consider that I paid $2500 for my Wacom Cintiq 27"HD and that isn’t even a computer." that's the money quote from the Penny Arcade piece.

- yeah but it won't be anywhere close to a wacom i'd wager_niko
- High res (5k?), touch 28" display is worth $1500 alone easy.monospaced
- it's 4500x3000 (192ppi) with 10 point multi touch, 28 inch displayernexbcn
- Isn't the current Surface digitiser better than Wacom's? People complain about the parallax.face_melter
- for reference, that cintiq is 2560x1440ernexbcn

I love it too! Can I get one without Windows?
- sublocked0
I like it! I want one!

Looks cool. I would need to test the stylus, and if there's any issues with the screen and eye fatigue.

One of the Penny Arcade guy already has the thing.

I like it but the mid-level model works out to about $5,200 cdn after tax - ctrl alt yikes!
- you're paying for the Microsoft namemonospaced
- yep it's pricey for sure.fadein11
- yep, we're paying to have the microsoft priceGeorgesII
- but aimed at top end of market - design companies won't blink at those prices if they buy mac pros etc.fadein11
- And top end mac + wacom or whatever same price.fadein11
- It was a joke about how they're the new Apple and can charge the brand tax.monospaced
- I was talking to prophetonefadein11
- come on mono - it's good, no need to bring up old apple beef :)fadein11
- well all i can say is i invested about half that for my rammed out retina 15" 2.3 i7 MBP... and i don't use a wacom but could an intuos pro is about $500ishprophetone
- obviously apples to oranges in some ways (monitor etc)... but for what i need i can spend 2/3 of that and have a kick ass system to get job doneprophetone
- i do like it thoprophetone
- yep - I just think design studios / agencies will buy a few of these. I can't afford one currently but I am a freelancer.fadein11
- I didn't say it wasn't a nice machine. Relax.monospaced
- I am relaxed, looking forward to seeing what Apple throws into the mix.fadein11
- I'm interested IF Apple throws something into the mix.CyBrainX
- I don't like the idea of that physical wheel. You can touch, use a stylus and that wheel? Seems like something should go and that wheel could be on screen.CyBrainX
- guys this is actually quite a nice option– an intous Cintiq 27" (just a touch screen basically) is @ 2.5k eur, a maxed out MBP is 5k euro.ezkl
- @Cy, haven't you used a "3d mouse" like that before? they're huge in the 3d market for navigating models easilymonospaced
