Loyalists saying they feel like pawns who've been lied to by the Tories ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-- "I wouldn't vote leave again"
Well you won't really get the chance either mate lolgrafician - Brutal how demagogues take advantage so easily, even in advanced countries.grafician
- lol at "advanced"hans_glib
- these are all famous mouth-pieces. you're never sure if they're actually that stupid or if they lay it on to gain support on the ground in marginal communitieskingsteven
- jamie bryson is kinda incredible though. he gets so much media coverage and is universally regarded as a clown - because if he wasn't he'd be shotkingsteven

- <fingers in ears>can't hear you, Nairn</fingers in ears>Fax_Benson

Wait a second - the Brexit 'deal' was 'completed'.. but didn't include anything to do with the Financial Sector? Wasn't that one of the more considerable concerns for us?
Surely fishing rights is but a blip, compared to finance?
- loads got left out in order to get it signed off. Finance / services, data sharing / intelligence, equal recognition of qualifications..Fax_Benson
- I feel sick. I want to go home.

- Cold War Steve?. There was a really good doc about him recently on Sky Arts, lives in Birningham too.Morning_star
- yeah, i saw that doc. Must admit, there's some good stuff on that Sky Arts channel ...Bluejam
- I'm a sucker for a good music documentary too, they seem to show loads of them. Watched the Laurel Canyon one then one about David Crosby. Really, really good.Morning_star

I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 3 years a handful of Oxford Mathematicians are coerced by Boris into developing a 'BrexitCoin'. "A world beating errr Crypto, thingy-a-bob."

afaik, the UK has committed to at least 4x the amount of vaccine doses that we need. It would be fucking hilarious if we ended up donating excess to the EU, for countries that are not France or Germany.
it'll never happen.

This is a sad state of affairs.
- Mad.PhanLo
- Is your problem with this the fact that the Voluntary Return scheme exists at all, or the apparently shambolic nature of its and Settled Status' roll out?Nairn
- If the former, I'd be disappointed - I'm actually quite impressed that the government is willing to pay to help people who want to relocate, to do so.Nairn
- If the latter - well, my [EU citizen] partner and all my [EU Citizen] friends sorted their status out last year, when it was quite abundantly clear they had toNairn
- Brexit is a shit idea, but we're stuck with it now, so no amount of principled indignation at what its effects necessarily are will make a jot of difference.Nairn
- From what I recall, it was surprisingly quick and easy for my partner to gain her settled status too. A rare instance of a successful UK IT project (!)Nairn
- I suppose the UK went out to Europe and paid for the workers to come there to work, so paying for them to go back is the least they could do.PhanLo
- People from the EU chose to come to the UK because it suited them and they were able to do so. The situation 'evolved', the writing's been on the wall for ..Nairn
- ... four years now. They're either welcome to stay, so can settle, or are welcome to leave, so can apply for help to do so. I don't see a need for a narrative.Nairn

- He makes some good points, but your posting it here isn't a great one. Set up a UK-based and focused competitor and $$profit$$.Nairn

"Move to EU to avoid Brexit costs, firms told.
Exporters advised by Department for International Trade officials to form EU-based companies to circumvent border issues"
https://www.theguardian.com/poli…
"British businesses that export to the continent are being encouraged by government trade advisers to set up separate companies inside the EU in order to get around extra charges, paperwork and taxes resulting from Brexit, the Observer can reveal.
In an extraordinary twist to the Brexit saga, UK small businesses are being told by advisers working for the Department for International Trade (DIT) that the best way to circumvent border issues and VAT problems that have been piling up since 1 January is to register new firms within the EU single market, from where they can distribute their goods far more freely."
- Looking out for the little guy.PhanLo
- 'This will mean laying off a small number of staff here and taking on people in the Netherlands.'
Lol. What a farce.PhanLo - still my long term plan to do this. UK, England specifically has fucked itself, it's all downhill from here, next 5 years those deadlines are fucked.shapesalad
