Is it possible to load a URL into a movieclip, so say you click a button in Flash, a movieclip is displayed with a webpage displayed in it, that the user could then interact with?

I think that involves some xml.

with some as to js magic, you could load the html page into an iframe on the page the flash is embeded.
you'll have some crossdomain security issues to solve though.

Are you talking like a simple custom html plage. Or are you thinking something like NYtimes.com?
I've loaded html elements in flash, but I've never attempted to render a whole page in flash. Seems like that would never work.
- I never even considered trying that. Sorry, I'm useless. I'll leave now.CyBrainX

Sounds beyond me. Alright alternative option time. Can you have an OnClick within a getURL to create a chromeless window?
on (release) {getURL("qbn.com");
}with this mixed in somehow....
onclick="window.open(this.href,t...
return false;"- well that second code didnt show up rightCygnusZero4

getURL just spawns a browser window. It doesn't load a page 'inside of Flash -- that ain't gonna work or do what you want. Sounds like you want the actual webpage to load inside of a Flash movie clip.
What you're talking about isn't realistically possible. It probably is possible, but you're basically talking about building a major MAJOR app. JavaScript > Flash > HTML/CSS/JavaScript to Actionscript conversion, and then dealing with security settings required to load the assets from a different URL, which you won't have cross domain policy for anyway (there's ways to hack it though)

That won't work. Not even the option mentioned by uan (that won't include the html page inside flash object). If i were on same situation (oh, forgotten flash days...) i would use a JS modal plugin, call it from flash and manage it (position, etc.) with CSS/JS. Unless you need to deal with responsive, user won't notice the difference.
