As somewhat mentioned before, if content voting, both thread and post level existed, the community could basically police itself. If wisdom of the crowd fails to some, then it's not the community for them. If the majority of the community really wants more design and less NSFW etc., then that will be demonstrated.
If the community opens again and grows, than it's becomes hard to game and manipulate the system. It would solve a great majority of issues.
If only: http://qbn.stackexchange.com/

If this community can't organically determine it's path, it will just fade away. It will either disappear altogether, or become something far from where it started that it may have well just disappeared.

QBN...Just give us (the end-user) the ability to block, hide and or delete threads that we deem inappropriate to be viewed in our browser (at work, around the family, etc...) There is no need to censor QBN user generated threads.

Ok, i have an idea. It's a tiny bit of a kludge UX-wise but it might make everyone happy..
In their user settings members can 'opt in' to a private session which exposes them to any content not deemed appropriate for public consumption.
Basically, once you've opted in, you can always see and create threads marked as private. This session lasts indefinitely unless you revert your account settings to the default 'Public Only' setting.
This setting will of course be overlooked by newcomers until they've visited long enough to be 'in the know' at which point they can elect to view and post private content themselves.
When broadcasting a new thread only those in session will see the option to mark the thread as private, again not exposing this feature to newcomers and needlessly confusing them.
All private threads are a free-for-all though clear titles which suggest the nature of contained content may still be preferred by some.
- Just add a dog ear option to the thread titles, done.organicgrid
- yeah, not quite.SteveJobs

in my opinion, the above would be far easier to moderate as the definition of what content/posts goes where is clearly defined
the other upside is the owners can, if they ever wish, look towards monetizing the site again. robot.txt can be edited to hide 'private' content from crawlers to keep search engine results clean.
best i've got. again though, not my site so not my decision.

So is that a yes on you wanting to be amid?

@stevejobs
why bother? seems like a pain in the ass simply to cater to a minority that get annoyed by animated gif and COTD threads...
unless you mean it's more in QBN's interests to have a more "public" version of the site for ads, profit and all that stuff...
- benfal990
Basically, we have 3-4 persons VS 3-4 persons arguing since 10 pages in this thread. QBN count way more people than that.
A real vote should be casted.Seriosuly. The "Show nsfw content" tick box in our profile would be THE best solution for everyone.
- pango0
Well .......
This thread is only asking for a moderator... Not how to improve it.
Way to stay on topic. Guys!
