So I got this shit as part of my new responsibilities. Wtf is it? Tweeting and posting pics on facebook?
- dopepope0
they didn't explain what it entails in the context of your job?
- sureshot0
just tweet about your missable life... and post sausage pics on facebook.

a big twitter logo right bottom on the page will do.

Where do you work? If you work for a band, it is important. If you work for a company that sells copper pipes, your bosses are mislead and it won't work.

it means you're the boss of all things Social Media Marketing at that company. Start doing some Social Media Marketing. It's your freaking job.

get hootsuite (schedule posts in advance, analytics, etc.), investigate bitly, ensure your company's website includes all OG tags for sharing content. Implement analytics on your links to ensure you're focusing in the right direction. Anticipate engaging with your audience or at least use analytics to justify spending less/more time with this new emphasis.

I've done a lot of real estate stuff. Your company needs content to share and just sharing listings ain't gonna cut it. You should share photos and videos as well as links to content specific to the area your company services (FHA laws, mortgage info, interest rates, trends, company sales, etc.) You'll have to design custom images with text, make videos, animated gifs, etc.

ok heres my guide.
Use followerwonk to find people with job descriptions and locations matching your target market and follow them on twitter
now you can listen and converse with your target customers... shoot the shit and let your brands personality free
set up predefined brand name searches in tweetdeck or hootsuite and praise/retweet any positive mentions. anything negative should be either responded to with a canned response and fed up the food chain for an official response but this conversation needs to be taken out of the public channels (or DM)
thats twitter sorted.
facebook is competition based although you can post full articles direct into your wall. just remeber to have a great image for each post.
pinterest is about inspiration so best images possible
ask your SEO to research popular topics and you also need to know when things are seasonally relevant... or you can use http://answerthepublic.com/seeds… to find what, where, why, when type topics and write a blog post about it, promoting this on your social channels
linkedin is about finding relevant groups and listening for questions you can answer (or feed up the chain of command to get the best response)
Dont forget to curate too. post content from industry magazines, forums and other (non competing) sources to become the expert in your industry.
if you want to go the extra mile you can use things like board reader, google alerts and other tools to search for questions and brand mentions on forums and then chip in with an official response.
hope that helps.

Depends, who do you work for? What services do they provide?
If you are a cable provider for instance, I would say social media 'marketing' is quite important. Regarding uptime/downtime/support and so on..
Fuck. I cannot believe I just said that.
- Sorry didnt see the comment above. I admit it. FUCK YA'LL ANYWAY. lol.rabbit
