I'm looking for a SUPER basic template including responsive coding. Is there any files I can download somewhere? Something ultra basic. You know with the basic <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"> and the @media screen and (max-width: 768px)

bootstrap is a framework that includes responsive media queries.
an alternative to bootstrap is foundation ...
http://foundation.zurb.com/not as bloated as bootstrap.

Knowing Benfal's general skill level with coding (I don't mean that as a criticism at all) I think bootstrap is going to confuse him at first.
Benfal - do you want a Wordpress theme you can modify or do you just want a raw responsive web page that doesn't have a CMS and you can do whatever you want with?
- thanks, yeah 2nd option. Something really simple. I want to play around.benfal99

Useful to anyone wanting to learn about (or more about) the basics of responsive.

If bootstrap or foundation is too complicated.

Benfal,
I've certainly not done this tutorial myself, but I think starting with something like this would be helpful.

Responsive design and the code behind it has always seemed really simple to me. It helps to have been making sites for a long time, but I learned a ton as I started customizing Wordpress sites and learning from an established theme.

There was a site posted here over the last few months that allowed you to drag and drop responsive elements in a series, making up a website that you could download and customise.
Can't for the life of me remember what it was, and i stupidly lost a load of bookmarks, where i'd kept it, recently.
It was quite colourful and, if I remember right, had a weird name..
...ring any bells?

I take back everything I've ever said about bloated frameworks like Bootstrap.
If you use a tool like Dust Me*, you can remove huge percentages of the unused code it deploys as standard.
Spot who doesn't really code any more :(

Anyone use this yet, by chance? Looks interesting.
