I'll need something for the cold weather. I got these rain pants but I get sweaty in them since they aren't breathable.

You'llneed a pair of waterproof ones as standard in your backpack, or some cycling shorts that you'll change out of. Really doesn't matter what either are, just go cheap as you'll destroy them

nothing you wear downstairs is going to matter. Everything will get soaked and filthy. best advice is to bring a change of pants and wear what you normally would: tights or shorts.

Fashion is somewhat a concern.

If fashion isnt a concern, I bet Dicks sporting goods would have a shell you can wear over your pants. Hunting goods section surely has what you need.
- These are particularly hideous...

Water proof jeans or chinos like above would be awesome. The charcoal 32 is sold out, and the price is a bit hefty. I was thinking under $100.

Got my jacket. Now I need rain pants. Something breathable, and strong rain protection for 20 minute bike rides. Even better would be something that I can snap over my pants on and off easily.
