I'm trying to decide where to post a job opening. It will be for a UX/UI position in Austin, Texas.
Can anyone share any experience with using a job board service (like Krop, Dribb, Bhance?) Which would attract the best talent?
They are pricey so I want to target the best audience. Thanks in advance.

.
from my experience these job boards don't work at all.best way for me was always tapping the personal network. putting time in there was always more effective than putting money in job ads.
2nd best way in my experience would be recruiters, even if they forward a lot of shitty candidates and are generally a pain in the ass to work with.
also for this particular position, I'd try advertising on niche forums or niche mags, doesn't hurt because costs nothing (example: http://uxmag.com/uxjobs)
good luck.

There's a link in red at the top of the page that says Job Board.

What are currently the popular job boards for design and tech openings? I am in particular wondering about UK, Europe and Australia.

In all honesty, skip the job boards. They're so US-centric as to be useless for the rest of us in the world.
That said, use LinkedIn to look for agencies and key people.
Alternately, you can use (ugh) ... headhunters.
I need a shower now, after saying that.

"We are looking for a Creative Graphic Designer to work from 00.30 through to 8.30/9.00 Monday to Friday (finish on Saturday morning). Working for a new generation legal practice, you will be supporting their APAC region with all things creative."
I guess if you are in the APAC region it makes sense... but :
"This is a 12 month FTC but could then become a permanent role, the HO of the firm is London based but as it is remote, as long as you can commute for the occasional meeting, it can be based anywhere nationally."
and to top it all off:
"Please note that due to the high volume of responses we receive, only successful applicants will be contacted."
Bwah ha ha..

- I suppose there will be someone desperate enough to do it. But they won’t get someone talented.Chimp
- haha sounds terrible...why don't they just hire someone in the "APAC" regionyuekit

Moved to a new city...now I need a part-time job to get started because new clients and money don't fall from the sky and painting all day doesn't pay the rent of a future atelier immediately...
Looking for some vacancies for the last few days and today I suddenly remembered LinkedIn...holy shit!
I had like 20 vacancies at several universities all around Germany that matched my profile...wow!
Unfortunately, nothing where I live. The only vacancy that interested me had 129 applicants...LOL!
After more than 20 years since I last worked in an agency, I started to consider it but every time I read the job requisites I get fucking nervous and think that I don't fit.
I really don't have a working rhythm right now, spent the last 20 years doing freelance jobs, odd jobs, murals, web design, graffiti workshops...having fun.
Has anyone some advice?

- All I can say is disregard the number of applicants, a lot of incompetents out there. And don't worry over requirements as long as you trust you can do the job.spl33nidoru
- dribbble sounds interesting but i really don't have relevant design projects for the last three years.oey_oey
- @shape...what is that?
@spl33nidoru...I guess you're right. I think I suffer from low confidence and I'm unsure as I've been out of the gameoey_oey - @oey don't even think about day trading forex, you'll end up in the gutterBeeswax
- get on linkedin, write something controversial like this post, people will be intrigued, jobs will pop upgrafician
