the reason is quite clear
"America has the most billionaires in the world, but not a single U.S. city ranks among the world’s most livable cities. Not a single U.S. airport is among the top 100 airports in the world. Our bridges, roads and rails are falling apart, and our middle class is being gutted out thanks to three decades of stagnant wages, while the top 1 percent enjoys 95 percent of all economic gains. "- 401k is a path for the rich to get richer but u dont hear peopel saying u shouldnt do itdeathboy
- recent 401k planner in the office. hate them telling me all about the incentives to fuck myselfdeathboy
- why would a 401k be bad? If it is bad, then it is the choices of what is invested, not the 401k. That makes no senseformed
- 401k is awesome... mine doubled this year with a smart investment... boom, free $100K!monospaced

It's really been a masterful transition and redistribution of wealth...to the wealthiest. All this talk of "freedom", "debt", etc., etc., shifts the entire discussion. It has turned out so good for the top 1% you have to really wonder how much was orchestrated.
So, at the end of the day, all you can do is work your ass off to break out of the norm. There will continue to be more and more disparity between rich and poor. The competition will continue to grow as population grows. That also means more people to work for less, just as it means more opportunities for those lucky/fortunate enough to "succeed".
Thankfully the Tea Party is dying. We'll move back to the middle ground and, hopefully, focus on issues that are really important to the future of this country.
