Cool. After watching a full loop then looking away, everything was zooming the other way. A doob would work right now.
There's vector software that allows for this. It's called Mischief.
The old painting one is pretty awesome and may be the origin of this style.
this is a 'classic' 16bit demoscene trick, you zoom in a picture and fade in the next 'step' at the same time, the next step image is always an enhanced zoomed version of the previous one so they crossfade infinitely keeping the resolution pretty sweet
