I agree w/ freedom, I am more concerned with Amazon killing retail, both small and large. I find it amazing Best Buy is still in business.
Just buy some stock and you can cheer it all on.

It is a little scary to see so much power in the hands of one company, and this applies to many web services not just Google. In my view anything that is a natural monopoly like this should be run as a public service rather than for-profit.

I know they have their hands in cars, glasses, phones, laptops, and sales and robots and who knows what else, but can anyone explain how they need 49,829 employees (according to wiki)? That's an insane number of people.
Why have offices in every city too?

I can't seem to fix this...
When I want to search for something, I start typing in my browser window, but as I'm typing, the cursor automatically goes to Googles search space and I fucking hate that. I want to just type whatever up in the Safari search field..
Any fixes on this?

We are truly living in a Neil Stephenson cyberpunk novel where our lives are run by a handful of companies, all under the guise of friendly colourful branding.

I was afraid of Google and them knowing everything about me through email, searches and maps.
BUT then they put out Google Glass and I stopped taking them seriously.

I'm afraid of Amazon putting every store out of business, changing the entertainment system and hosting a large % of the internet for other companies.

Mr Dopfner's comments were not just restricted to Google - the founder of social network Facebook also came under fire. He explained that he'd been at a conference when someone asked Mark Zuckerberg how Facebook stored data and protected users' privacy.
"And Zuckerberg said: 'I do not understand your question. Those who have nothing to hide, have nothing to fear.'
"Again and again I had to think about this sentence. It's terrible. I know it is certainly not meant that way. This is a mindset that was fostered in totalitarian regimes not in liberal societies. Such a sentence could also be said by the head of the Stasi or other intelligence service or a dictatorship."

^ I fucking hate that "Those who have nothing to hide have nothing to fear" statement. Ask yourself why Barrett Brown was (and maybe still is) facing 100+ years of prison.
