I'm 35, used to play in high school, and can run a mile without dying. What sort of team should I join if I am just getting back into it?
- +1 You're probably too young and fitness level is certainly too high for this caper.josimar
- In my experience, watched NY v some random team at Giants Stadium a while back, the biggest cheer from the idiotic crowd was for a throw in.josimar

indoor. not as big of a field to run back and forth on.
Can you make it to Edinburgh for 7pm on a Monday night? If so you can play with us. Can't pay for flight/expenses but don't let that put you off.
Where do you live?
Personal opinion, but, I think indoor will be tough if you're just getting back into it - because the ball is never out of play. It's more manic and the hard floors can be tough on your knees.
If you play outside there are natural breaks in play as you wait for the ball to be retrieved from beyond whichever fence it's been blootered.
yeah, like someone already mentioned try indoor/fives.
smaller field. lots of action and fun. it's intense though, like fax_benson said. but it would be easy to go to a club and try to join one of their "midnight leagues"
try a kick ball league
ad leagues / company leagues. There are a few options in the city i expect.
MMA. Dodgeball? j/k
Local bars have teams, check em out.
Somehow I am playing goal in a league game tonight. I am so screwed. Haven't been in the box since high school.
Indoor is too slow, not enough running, too boring.
Aaaand note to self: I am horrible at soccer.
