Burger King will use AI to check if employees say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’
Burger King is launching an AI chatbot that will live in the headsets used by employees. The voice-enabled chatbot, called “Patty,” is part of an overarching BK Assistant platform that will not only assist employees with meal preparation but also evaluate their interactions with customers for “friendliness.”

“Meta contractors in Kenya told Swedish newspapers they’re being asked to review intimate footage from Ray-Ban AI glasses, including people undressing, using the bathroom, watching porn, and filming sex.
One contractor said users often don’t realize they’re still recording when they set the glasses down. Meta sold 7 million pairs in 2025, up from 2 million in 2023-2024 combined.
Users can’t use the AI features without agreeing to share data with Meta’s servers, and the terms of service bury the fact that humans may manually review your footage. One annotator said “if they knew about the extent of the data collection, no one would dare to use the glasses."
“The company they work for is called Sama and is a subcontractor to Meta. Here in Kenya’s capital, thousands of people train AI systems, teaching them to recognise and interpret the world. They are called data annotators, and they are the manual labourers of the AI revolution. On the screens they draw boxes around flower pots and traffic signs, follow contours, register pixels and name objects: cars, lamps, people. Every image must be described, labelled and quality assured.
All to make the next generation of smart glasses a little more intelligent – a little more human.”“It is an uncomfortable truth for tech giants: the AI revolution is to a large extent built on labor in low-income countries. What we call “machine learning” is often the result of human hands.
In the multi-million city of Nairobi, SvD and GP meet Sama workers at an indistinct hotel, at a safe distance from Sama. Some come straight from a night shift, others are preparing for a ten-hour shift in front of the screens.”

What AI Models for War Actually Look Like
Smack Technologies, which announced a $32 million funding round this week, is developing models that it says will soon surpass Claude’s capabilities when it comes to planning and executing military operations.

I was out in East London earlier, passing by a cafe which had a loaf of window vinyls with obviously AI-generated food previews.
Along comes a group of earnest twentysomethings and one points at the obviously AI-generated images and asks the group "Hey, is that AI?" and so began a dialogue I'd have really not been party to, two sides arguing it out whether or not the obviously-AI generated images were indeed so.
These were outwardly bright young things, trying to ascertain whether or not an entirely unimportant thing was real or not.
We're doomed.

I tried installing this MCP server someone created for Ableton Live and it works surprisingly well. You can connect Claude or Codex to Ableton and generate entire songs.
The AI will select instruments according to what you describe and compose music, add automation etc. It can also trigger the music in real time...there's something eerie about hearing an AI play the music it created.

Inside the Dirty, Dystopian World of AI Data Centers
To get Colossus up and running fast, xAI built its own power plant, setting up as many as 35 natural-gas turbines—railcar-size engines that can be major sources of smog—according to imagery obtained by the Southern Environmental Law Center. Pearson coughed as we drove by the facility. The scratch in my throat worsened, and I rolled up my window.
