Places to stay in terms of location rather than "nice comfy bed".
It's good to be near nice restaurants / cafes for meals/breakfasts or to have thinngs worth seeing on your doorstep so hours are not wasted each day trying to get into the centre of town from a hotel on the outskirts.

I was there last year, stayed at first hotel excelsior, which is a pretty inexpensive but centrally located hotel. 1 block from the train station. right off the Stroget. has 2(!) strip clubs next to it, but was a reasonable place to stay. Not luxurious, but very central and easy walking. Has bike rentals, and a pretty good breakfast buffet. I'd stay they again on the cheap.
- note: you may be hassled by prostitutes if coming home late on a weekend.monNom

The whole city is amazing... I stayed at http://www.phoenixcopenhagen.dk/… I was there for business though but the place seemed reasonably priced. It's also pretty centrally located. If you go in the summer the days last for about 15 hours so there's a shit ton of sightseeing you can do. You should definitely check out Christiania. It's a commune with self imposed laws as well as a weed and hash market.

Nørrebro is kind of the up and coming hipster area. Also they are currently undergoing a major subway transit upgrade so the city center is torn the hell up.
http://www.12hrs.net/guides/12-h… a lot of shopping on that guide though. If you have time the Design Museum Denmark is pretty amazing if you like furniture http://designmuseum.dk/

what does it matter where you stay?
