He was a great actor. Doesnt mean he wasnt a weak scumbag. He obviously was. Any parent who has any heart and strength in them would not let this happen. Big deal so he can dance around in front of a camera. Still a piece of shit that left his kids due to an addiction. Sorry no excuse for that, ever.

My father is a recovering heroin addict. He has made some shitty decisions throughout his life but i would say it's not as simple as saying, 'he's a piece of shit'. For those who have never tried heroin, you simply cannot comprehend the power of this drug.
To turn back to it after 23 years? Incredible.
Just year my father relapsed after 16 years of sobriety from heroin. 16 years! It devastated my family. My Dad told me that there hasn't been a single day for the last 16 years that he didn't think about using again. Most of us simply cannot comprehend that type of addiction and the power of that drug.

Personally i'm speaking as a father of small kids. I'd like to think that the love for them is more powerful than any drug, the thought of not being there for them should outweigh the thrill of any high.
If not, you are putting your selfish needs ahead of their own.

How many times do they say the same thing in Daily Mail articles? There are literally mini-stories within the page that are about the same thing. I think I counted a dozen mentions of how he appeared the day before his death. These guys need to nearly how to edit.

Hoffman's work made us have understanding for sometimes extremely flawed characters. He was an honest actor, and he had flaws himself. His death is a loss to his family and to film.

Could it be? Could it really be true that the love for your kids is not the be-all end-all feeling of your life? Look, it sucks that heroin can potentially be one of those toppers, but at least you get that cold splash of water on your face. No that I'm anti-loving your kids, but sometimes the concept of parenthood needs a reality check.

When you're struggling with addiction and mental health issues, the thought processes of a rational person just don't apply. We all know it's an incredibly selfish thing to do, but that's often not at the top of the list for an addicted person. Many will often think that their kids are better off without them around...

I know it's difficult to absorb facts and truth and experience through text on an experience but you really need to calm yourself for one moment and realize how profoundly ignorant you are when it comes to addiction.
You have no idea what triggered someone's a dependency on opiates in the first place, almost always it is some form of trauma - physical, mental or emotional.
It's not this hedonistic choice you think it is, it's a very difficult, complex experience that goes on for your entire life.

If you want some real insanity, you should go to the Facebook page for The Blaze (Glenn Beck's horrible website / news service) and see what all the perfect, flawless conservative scumbags who follow him had to say about PSH's death. That he deserved to die since he was an elitist liberal. That it's great he died because there's one less liberal in Hollywood. That everyone in Hollywood is an elitist who thinks they can get away with anything. And that liberals are the only ones who do drugs because they're the ones who are for legalizing drugs. Seriously.
