I got inspired to make some watches based on the tone of the movie "Her". Sort of thought about what the lead character (Theodore) would wear on his wrist. Can anyone let me know how I should credit the movie still used below? I could only find how one should credit a movie still in an essay.
Would this be good enough?...
"Her. © Name of Production Studio"?

do you think he would wear a watch that said "Her" on it?

They would be all over your ass with a C+D.
Use the inspiration - change the name and lose the image from the film.

the watch is cool. Forget calling out the inspiration, we're inspired by things all the time, no need to explain.

yeah I really like that watch.
haven't seen the film yet though!

The movie was pretty good. I got it mixed up with that other Scarlett Johansson movie that's coming out soon and expected her to turn into an alien at some point and kill everyone. But still, a pretty good movie.

Ask Siri if she is 'her'... Siri gets defensive

It's not only that I was inspired by the movie to make a watch... I was planning to make a series of these watches, along the lines of "what would the protagonist where?" I was going to do Gravity next.
So I take it I won't be able to use any movie stills even if I give credit?
What about referencing the movie in the project description in my portfolio? I think that should be ok, right?
I'm still undecided about leaving the "HER" labels on the watch, or if that's even legal if I reference the movie in the project description.

I'm surprised we don't see more of this – items of fashion based up on films. The trousers everyone was wearing in Her were weird!
Anyway, I don't even wear a watch, so this doesn't really interest me.What a great film though. Reminded me a little of the Charlie Brooker Black Mirror episode.

Are these actual watches you are selling or are these renders/concept pieces for a portfolio?

I think they look really cool, but how did you "make" a watch? Is this a mockup or something?

Take the "her" off and lose that connection altogether. Then pitch the design to someone in that industry. That watch is simply excellent. I would buy the one with the darker band in a heartbeat.

This is a pretty cool site for inspiration.

I feel like I've seen that watch before.

I like that watch a lot and the renderings are good, but the colors aren't owned by the movie.
I'm confused why you need to credit anyone? What is this going to be used for if you're not actually making and selling the watch.

i thought he said he was never gonna act again?
