Thanks omaha.
I know those colors aren't owned by the movie... It was just a recurring visual (muted beige colors with splashes of red/orange). I kept seeing that everywhere, and thought it was interesting. I just loved the aesthetic look of the movie.
I'm unsure how to credit the photo that I used in the mock-up (my first post). I want to use that in my portfolio. I didn't take that photo, so I assume I need to credit someone for it (the studio? the director? I don't know).
Here are just some stills from the movie...

If there is someone that will either burn you to the ground or steal your idea is hollywood's film industry. Remove all direct references immediately so search engines can't track them or you might regret it later.
Just imagine what would happen if will.i.am or kanye west saw this.. they will rip you off and your name will never be associated with the product.
The watch looks nice, though, regardless of the inspiration. I think you would have better luck if it had no connection with the movie too.

"It's not only that I was inspired by the movie to make a watch... I was planning to make a series of these watches, along the lines of "what would the protagonist where?" I was going to do Gravity next."
I like this idea. Though seems we like the watch more. ha.
