Currently learning Cinema 4D... I find the interface and methods far closer to Adobe's UI - which I know and love. Anyone a 3D designer on here (other than wobbly bits)... Any good forums or tutorials you'd like to share? I will love you forever...

Go to Lynda.com and spend $25 and lock yourself into a room for about a month doing tutorials then come out and walk around your neighborhood and examine all the forms and textures that you see around you then go back to Lynda.com and lock yourself in your room again for about two weeks then go back to your neighborhood and try drawing freehand what you see then you should be on your way to creating some cool 3d.

Get on Greyscale gorilla and start making shiny piles of balls like everyone else.

- animatedgif >>> who are you? what do you do for a living? you always seems so jaded, angry, or sad...********
- what he meant is that c4d is so easy and gsg provides presets basically, if you wanna really learn go somewhere elsefeel
- the greyscale gorrila vimeo has a lot of good tutorials and whatnotfeel
- what feel said. Good for learning basics but be aware that everyones seen that shit by now.animatedgif
- and I make animated gifs for a livinganimatedgif

C4D's built in help file is completely underrated and comes with a great set of tutorials for those starting out. You can right click on almost anything in cinema and pull up the relevant help file.
Digital Tutors has lots of comprehensive videos and is easily the best value for a CG education. Wish I could have spent a fraction of my college money there instead had it been around.
cgtalk.com, c4dcafe.com and mograph.net are arguably the the best forums around for this stuff. Just about every noob question has been asked before and almost every thread is gold.
If you're the twitter type, motionleague.com hosts #mochat on tuesday nights to geek out on motion design. The c4d/mograph community is pretty huge on twitter offering lots of help when you use the hashtag c4d or mochat.
- Yep right click on anything > Show Help.
One of the only apps where the help docs are usefulanimatedgif

Also, check this guy out. http://beeple-crap.com/
Follow him on Facebook. He does something everyday and shares his source files as well. It's pretty complex stuff, but entertaining and the source files can be confusing but fascinating. It's always great to see how a master works.
- beeple is cool. And always gives out source files.baseline_shift

Ahhhh, thanks soooo much.... I also just found a little site called: youtube as well. You'd be surprised at the the content you can find, all depends on the author and quality of tutorials - but I'm learning quite a bit from das youtube.... I like this kid:

i learned a lot from greyscale gorilla, as mentioned above. also some good stuff on http://www.pariahstudios.co.uk/?…. For specific issues you run into on a project, youtube has a ton of great tutorials.
A bit more advanced, but als some good stuff on here:
http://www.helloluxx.com/Also, practice, practice, practice. I've been using c4d for about 4 years and feel like im finally starting to get comfortable in it. Its 4x as complicated as photoshop, but a really amazing tool.

I started with Lynda. Good place to learn the ins and outs, enough to start digging in yourself and learning as you go. Greyscale is ok... and free. Just use it... a lot.
