Is it just me or is it apple still playing catch up with android/google?
- STILLmonospaced
- y'know, since they invented the modern smartphone OS, touch screens, icons, etcmonospaced
- Apple just copied them, and is still catching up. Can't even get a decent processor into their phones. Pathetic, right?monospaced
- I dont know about pathetic just concerned that it seems like they are playing catch up.teh

i have dual monitors... everything is working fine except the command-tab menu appears on my other screen now... ... i don't like that... I can't figure out how to get back on my main screen
not a big deal but definitely one of those things that is silly-annoying
- You can move it easily in the system prefmonospaced
- where? i'm done looking (I think I put about 4 mins of effort into it)... guide me, monoPonyBoy
- on the two monitors, drag the menu bar to the one you wantmonospaced
- that just moves the main menu.. does nothing to move the 'command-tab' menu to opposite screenPonyBoy

I just saw this update, but I have no idea what it is. An "upgrade" of some kind, but the description is all about reading ebooks.
What the fuck is this?

My multi-touch gestures on the magic mouse aren't working. It still tracks and scrolls but non of the mission control gestures work. They're all turned on in preferences too.
Annoying.
- i use magic prefs, and things seem to be working fine. Is this a new issue for you?bulletfactory
- Worked perfectly before upgrading to mavericksset
- Fixed it now with third party appset

I just purchased my first new computer in a decade, (late 2013 iMac) pre-installed with Mavericks, of course. Bit the bullet and subscribed to the fancy Creative Cloud™ (Ai/PS/ID/Br) and, so far, nothing but joy. Seriously, joy. Maybe i skipped the bugs with all the system updates since this thread started, maybe i just like how brand new hardware smells ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ regardless, I can recommend it :)

Wow, OK, I finally checked the Wikipedia page on this. Apple needs to fire their copywriter, because the description in the App Store told me fuck all.
Given all the glitches above, I'll wait for 10.9.1.
- It's just a new iteration of the OS, nothing special...monospaced

Ok thanks! Thinking of updating from ML. Anyone notice if usernames passwords are still ok, ftp , sftp clients etc in Dreamweaver. Everything ok to update?
I use apple and pc just want to be sure everything is ok before I do.

My late 2012 iMac, running snow leopard, used to literally take about two minutes to wake up after being asleep all night. I'd get a slightly greyed out screen with a loading bar and it took forever to wake up, then once it had my mouse would take another 30 seconds to connect through bluetooth.
Compared to my slower imac at work which woke up instantly, it was fucking terrible. I rang applecare and they tried to rubbish it off saying that the more ram the computer had the longer it would take to wake up, which I knew was utter rubbish.
Anyway... after installing mavericks my iMac now wakes up instantly. Good stuff.

Did you know that... if you install iWorks 9 trial and upgrade OS X to Mavericks, it will get automagically baptised by AppStore to a full license added to your account, and upgraded to the most recent version?
Probably will still work if you install the trial when on Mavericks already.
