I think this is a nice bit of film marketing. I normally find I'm left a bit cold by marketing stunts, they normally reek of marketing teams that just love the smell of there own farts; but I think this one is really well executed.
It's for the new version of the film Carrie (yawn, another reboot etc etc) and features a girl in a New York cafe who flips out somewhat. I'd say the customers are real and their reactions plus the skill of the special effects guys make the short film.

pretty good,
pants were probably soiled in there

That was AWESOME. Some of those people were genuinely scared out of their minds.

At 2:03 one of the actors response to her screaming looks like he just smelled a sick fart.
This would be great if they'd not let on that this was all a setup, and they just closed the shop immediately. Just imagine the people who recorded it putting that up on YouTube or going to the news with it.

"Just imagine the people who recorded it putting that up on YouTube or going to the news with it."
That's what I hoped too.
Unfortunately to be able to use peoples facial reactions they would have had to grab people before they ran off into the distance to get them to sign disclosure agreements :(
- The world is so unfun even when it's fun.mg33

Girl I work with is in this - she's actually the chick in the still frame.

Good stuff.

Kudos to the people that tried to sit out that crazy chick.

My only skepticism about this being pulled on real people was that the company would need to get releases from the people in the video. Did they block the door so people couldn't run out? Did they chase them down, going "It's an ad, it's an ad! Can you sign this so we can use you in the video?!"
