I have. I didn't do the egg though the place where I go its an entire room just outside Philly. It helps with your meditation you can't feel your body because you float in the salt water and the water is body temperature.
Look for a place that has the float pools. They re easier to get in and out of they are very shallow, about 6 inches of water.
Here is the place I go.

The only one in the area.Once you get past the owners political banter he facilitates a good experience.

This is the local one here...gets all 5 stars on yelp... I guess it's $60 for an hour float.

i tried it once.. i couldnt handle more than 10 minutes.. the worst part was the salt water in the eyes.. burn like a motherfucker
- weird, your eyes are naturally filled with salt water alreadymonospaced
- the pods are bad the pools you can keep towels on a wall. took awhile getting used to my neck not being supported felt weird.74LEO

I would do the pool if they have them. The pods are still noisy and after a float and being weightless those pods are a battle getting out of. If you can get a pool that is isolated in a room its a much better experience.
I have been doing it for awhile and the owner lets me float as long as I want. The first time is a lot of information I'm sure. Look out for cuts also or they will be a distraction, don't shave etc no caffeine .
Even if you are not a meditation practitioner just being weightless for an hour free of thoughts has proven to be both mentally and physically beneficial.
Let us know how your first float goes! It looks like a nice place. I may have to come out to Cali. Want to go to the next BOOM Fest.

Tim ferris and joe rogan both rave like crazy fools about these.
They describe it like meditating on steroids (which is probably the worst analogy for a relaxing exercise), and say that nothing comes close to the emptiness and relaxation you can get from it.

just do it on your bath tub. shut all the light off put some bath salt in it.
