so somebody writes "Pitchfork is shit" because they gave a glowing review to Kanye's album, which I really like. Not sure who's opinion is right. To be fair Pitchfork don't do a bad effort for the genres they cover. Maybe music evolves faster than you!

I'd say the opposite actually. The reviews they wrote in the early days were terrible, like these two to pick examples from both ends of the spectrum:
