Wasn't there already an American series like this a few years ago? I think it was cancelled after two episodes, but the premise sounds the same.

this looks good.
look for Les Revenants (with English subtitles) if you want to torrent it.

I would say that Americans have to rely more heavily on subtitles, every british accent gets subtitles on American Telly.
- hahaha, quite.detritus
- sheeeit, Americans have to subtitle themselves sometimesmonospaced

I love sci-fi. This looks awesome.

It seems like Paul Abbott’s production company is set to do a British remake or something similar - presumably to dumbify (not an actual word) for the UK audience as the majority won't cope with having to watch and read at the same time.
- Oh jeez :(23kon
- tbh if they can't be bothered to read subtitles they don't deserve to see it.hans_glib
- It's true, I'm not making it up 23konmonospaced

Your crack about Americans not being able to read subtitles was totally unnecessary and misinformed.
- He said 'The Majority' which is probably on cue. Much the same for Anglos too, but it's always good to defer...detritus
- Y'know, considering Channel 4 completely dropped all subtitles in the '90s because the British wouldn't read them.monospaced
- Majority or not, it was unnecessary and ultimately rude and uninformed.monospaced
- Christ you have thin skin - you actually bothered to Google up on C4's history? loldetritus
- I love the way you present that as your own knowledge - you do realise we all Google too? :)detritus
- I was totally curious! Both of you wrote with such authority, and I just didn't believe it.monospaced
- I didn't have knowledge, but I smelled bullshit, so I informed myself. Also not a fan of gross generalizations.monospaced
- I think being defensive about a whole country is something long past. We all now know the majority worldwide are morons...set
- I didn't Google C4's history, I just read about the show and every article brought up the history of C4 and subtitles.monospaced
- I think generalizing on the USA is also something long past, as we know that most of the world is morons...monospaced
- Well yes but in higher density over thereset
- :/monospaced
- The majority of Americans don't own passports too right?
*stoke stokegoldieboy - agreed, totally uncalled forscarabin
- meh. no point in getting upset. it's the interwebz after all.lvl_13

Aye, first episode was very good - I've no idea where this show's going, but the last few minutes really span the whole thing around for me as the first bulk felt more existential than supernatural as such.
Well, 'til Victor turned up and started freaking the shit out of me - and then that last few minutes showing what happened in the bus.
*fucking chills*
- Bluejam0
really enjoyed it, well worth watching
- hans_glib0
yes, a really disturbing idea, tho i'm not sure "victor" is really necessary. trust the US to rip and ruin it.

Awesome show... plus soundtrack by Mogwai...

Channel 4 in the UK showed episode 1 of a french series called "The Returned" - about dead people coming back to life - not as zombies, just alive again.
Looks VERY promising. French with subtitles though not a challenge to watch. Good on Channel 4 for having the balls to show this at prime viewing time on a sunday night!
PLUS having the genius to show all french (spoken) adverts during the first ad break.http://www.channel4.com/programm…
It seems like Brad Pitt's production company is set to do a remake or something similar - presumably to dumbify it for the US audience as the majority couldn't cope with having to watch and read at the same time.
