Making my own videogame indiegogo

Hi, I doubt anyone remembers me. I decided to finally go freelance. I'd like to spend most of the time I have available making my own video game.
This will be stylized and meant to be played using fixed cameras. So far, I've only spent a few weeks on this. I got multiplayer working over UDP protocol. Right now since I got my network component worked out, I am working over the animations. The enemies will be varied, some will try to swallow the characters, some strangulation, etc. I don't want it to be only some dumb zombies charging at you. You will have to run and be good at timing your dodge moves right to play this.
Any crits, but mostly 5$ or 15$ or lmk how could I promote this. I got my account rejected at neogaf. :(
Or at least lmk how the page looks on a mac if possible. I've adjusted the kerning in the title so it looks good using Palatino. Perhaps I should use a .gif instead?
thanks,

*any crits "welcomed" at that, should've reread this before posting.

I "feels" like your game is trying too much. Think of great Indie games (starting with "Another World" and ending with "Pez") - they all had something in common, they were "honest" with the player. The were not afraid to say: here is a game done by one or two guys - we can't compete with the big guys in terms of cool graphics, cool camera angles, cool special FXs so we'll go the opposite route - we'll do something "simple" but with lots of heart behind it. All you got to ask yourself is how does heart show through - and you will be golden.

Focus on explaining your proposition more than what font you're using - after reading the above and watching two of your videos, I'm still none the clearer as to what the game actually *is*.
At the moment - and I mean this as no disrespect because if you've coded that all up from scratch that represents a significant effort - all i can see is what looks like the output of 90s 'Microsoft Movie Maker' or something.

you could write up some great lead-in story about how this office is an ad agency that got bought by amalgamated consolidated holding company and then liquidated and everyone got fired and the client logos all got turned into monsters by the disgruntled IT dudes and you're the only one left and you have to get out and survive and run as fast as you can....
you could place bad comp layouts on posters on the walls and bad logo designs all over the tables as if there was a focus group or brainstorming session that suddenly stopped when everyone left in a big hurry..... so the place looks like post apocylptic ad agency..

There's a lack of substance in the overall proposal at the moment. Is there a write up anywhere about what on earth is going on? Back story? You need to give more in order for people to commit to pre-order... but that's my 2cents.
Plus, it sounds like a HUGE undertaking, I wish you the best of luck but as pr2 said, worth within your means to at least get something finished unless you have a team to support you.
And the design of the page? I dont give a crap :)

I like the ad agency idea. It can be like the mall in Dead Rising that looked like a collection of geocities webpages.
Thanks for all the comments. Most of it is things I will get around to fixing so it's clear I am leaving too many things up for interpretation.
Just to address a few things and I appreciate all the replies, don't be shy even if it's something I might not want to hear, I'd rather read it than not:
I made the mistake of recording with bandicam, it compressed the character's details out. Next video will be lossless in fraps.
The multiplayer in the 2nd video is working across 2 countries, it's not restricted to lan.
The story will be flexible, every event will happen in game with the player being constantly in control. Game play and interacting with others will be more important than anything. Nobody is going to be stuck following rails from point a to b in this. I'm approaching this as something more of a board game or a "classic" card game, not an interactive movie.
I will post an update this week.

> fixed cameras
oh god no

They are carefully designed to enhance the gameplay and they pan when necessary.

$5 for a Facebook like? you kidding me? lol

You guys might be trolling, but I honestly truly appreciate the feedback. I have thought of reducing the contribution amounts by a lot, down to 1$ or 5$ actually.
I have thought about showing the game in 3rd person too since it can be played that way.
Don't be shy, whatever you have to say, I'm reading.

i wouldn't have the first clue on how to do what you're doing. so with that, i commend you!

Looks great! Reminds me of some of the early residident evil 2 n64 (aka resident evil 1.5) screens which got scrapped mixed with some of the style of the early silent hill games.
You obviously have a long ways to go, but i'd recommend working on some screens that better show the final game and maybe a teaser trailer and definitely an updated site that has a more polished look with details about the game including story, screens, vids, progress (keep it high-level for your audience) or just target date, and platform support.
I'd also shorten your intro (tl;dr) and move it to an about section and make your donation button less conspicuous. actually i'd remove that altogether as you'll probably never get more donations than to pay for a pizza or two (but maybe I'm wrong).

cont.
once you have a site that's better suited to show off the soon-to-be-released game, start shopping it around to bloggers and various indie game portals. let them feature your game and get you exposure. then, once you've got an audience, start releasing the game for beta testing. at that time you can start planning your initial release and preparing for ports to other platforms if the reception is good.
best of luck!

btw, did you build your game engine from scratch or are you using an off the shelf one? what programming language are you using?

It seems like you have the technical aspects in place but the visuals and story are lacking, and those are ultimately the aspects that will get people excited about a game. The storyline is integral to any good horror...so why is there no mention of it at all? Just saying that you are building a classic horror game isn't going to be enough to get people excited, they need a unique concept/story and have that backed up with visuals to match.
Similar to what pr2 said above, it's often better to do a great job with something simple than to get overly ambitious. The indie games that succeed seem to be the ones that have a unique vision and a lot of attention to detail even if the scale of the project is limited.

Nah man make the game you want to make, personally I never liked the first camera survival horrors and couldn't get into Resi till 4. But if its your game then you should make it how you want with as few compromises as possible.
^ good advice from ukit there

Good luck.
I would maybe render better stills. Like all Games do. Show what it might look like all polished and shit.
I also have no idea what the game is about. Like nothing. Zero.
