"Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite to become subscription-only products"
- benfal990
INFO: http://www.theverge.com/2012/2/6…
Adobe Creative Cloud to be priced at $49.99 monthly, includes Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4

I guess it is what it is but what about when you work for a company?
A cloud set up will have all your info and stuff but what happens when you leave the company?
Does it make sense for designers to start having their own account that they take with them and have the company pay them for it?
- backup your stuffprophetone
- i do that already but i do stuff on the side to or at home. Seems to make the most sense to own your toolsdann

Sounds like they want to make sure nobody uses pirated versions anymore.
- This is a bad idea for Adobe. Pirating is a good thing for them I'd say.inteliboy
- Absolutely, how do you think photoshop became the industry standard? Every kid shelled out $700?monNom
- Exactly - these kids will go directly to open source - in 5 years this will represent first genuine competitor since the macromedia daysSlashPeckham

That pen and protractor toy was pretty cool but I question the fidelity of the work you can produce from it.

"Morris also acknowledged that there will be customers who just can’t switch to Creative Cloud and for the most part, that’s because of the online components like the Beh4nce community and cloud storage features. Government agencies, for example, will not want to use this (or aren’t allowed to), schools won’t want their students to publish their work publicly to Beh4nce and some enterprise customers, too, will not want to deal with these features. For them, Adobe has created special licenses and version of the Creative Cloud that still use the online distribution mechanism, but that won’t include that features that these customers will object to."
Interesting.
- Ad agencies in general due to their client base will need this license.
jonny_quest_lives - Can't see movie or gaming studios wanting even the possibility of their camaigns hitting the cloudjonny_quest_lives
