$50 a month.
http://blogs.adobe.com/conversat…
"We are excited to announce that membership to the Adobe Creative Cloud will be available in the first half of 2012 at a price of $49.99 per month for individuals and $69.99 per month per seat for workgroups, both for an annual plan."

Finally! I was considering their subscriptions for awhile, but it was close to $40 per application, so that would mean spending almost $200/month to use the suite. Now that it's $50 for the whole thing, it makes perfect sense (especially because I only need it for side freelancing).

I think a lot of enterprise software licensing is eventually going to go this route.
There's nothing in this article about the nitty-gritty of the 'flexibility' of the Creative Cloud. My guess is that it would utilize a token-based system where you exchange a token for the service(s) you require. The only problem with this is that tokens are ultimately limited because you only get so many of them to use at a time - and that's the catch 22.

So, this means you need to pay a whole year in advance to get that price, right?

I think they've been pushing up the price of upgrades so that this will look like a better option to us. I like owning the software. There probably are benefits to the cloud, like getting ongoing updates. But if you were comfortable with the features of an older version of the app you didn't need to keep paying.

If this is what I think it is (I haven't gone over the fine print) it's perfect for me. I want to be legal but I don't have that kind of money at the moment.

interesting, $600 per year to lease or $2k for a 'cycle' and own it...
