what the hell is up with marketing people that they have to change a bland but classic piece of branding just to justify their existence? the new version is a)hideous) b) will date really quickly thus c) allowing another marketing person to justify their existence with another rebrand.

It's interesting how they basically took the original logo, tweaked it a smidge and hit it with a "Bevel & Emboss" to finish it out. I kind of wish they simply tweaked the existing one based on what Loewy did and simplified it even more or something.
