my kids (10 and 7) grew up watching a ton of stuff...lots of CBC kids, dora, Treehouse, etc...
but one of the long-time favs at our house was my dvd collection of this:

My 2.5 year old loves Yo Gabba Gabba

anything with letters or numbers. HE IS OBSESSED with them. He's had the alphabet memorized since he was 2 years old, can do all the sounds of the letters in order really fast.
he's also got somewhat of a photographic memory. We have like 10+ sets of alphabets with all the letters on each set with different arrangements of colors and he can tell me any letter's color on any alphabet set without looking at them.

and I HIGHYLY recommend Meet The Sight Words if your child is even remotely interested in letters/words.
