- all pixel based design is impressionist design.

Seems the most important part of "flat design" for the dribbble crowd is the colour turquoise

But how do I know its a button if it doesn't have a gradient and look like its made of glass? I don't know if I can click it.
Said my client.
- It'll be in turquoise or red

- Heh. I've encountered this. A tiny bit of shadowing went a long way. I'll eventually test into the flat one to see if users act any different towards it.A02

"Flat" is a poor choice for a descriptor; all it says is anything suggesting depth has been stripped away. "Reductive" would be better.

I worked on a project 2 years ago that had a 'flat design' feel and got told it looked dated.....hahahahahahahahahahaha...

From Pig:
'A lack of technical skills masquerading as minimalism (for better or worse)"

Valido points, but I think it makes more sense when it's the opposite, too much bevels, too much photoshop, over designing something has to make up for maybe a not so strong concept? (not trying to undermine photohop skills)
But its like this so called HDR look on photos (note that I'm not calling it HDR photography) when its just an ordinary photo with filter leves cranked up to 110%
It could work both ways really, but I'd like to think that good design looks cleaner
