anybody have some suggestions for a solid iphone app that can track business expenses? you know, take a pic of a receipt, tag it with notes, track car mileage etc. Something that's appropriate for design businesses.
After finishing my tax deductions this year, I realize I finally need to do this.

Where are you located randommail?

- Tracking personal/freelance expenses? I've just started using it; great for budgeting...ideaist

Mint looks good. Would you recommend over expensify? These are only 2 that seem popular.
I want to track just my freelance business expenses and simply categorize precisely. Not really for budgeting purposes, although I guess that can't hurt.
- Can't speak to expensify; give both a test drive for a few days and choose Edward (mint.com) or Jakob (expensify.com)...ideaist

thank ideaist. Do you use mint.com in lieu of other software such as Quicken or Quickbooks? Can mint be used to track invoices & receivables?

Tracks simple expenses, but not mileage.
We've got a mobile app too.

sublocked, is that YOUR app? If so, I'm impressed and will consider it.
The direct estimating and invoicing is nice. I guess Intuit does that, but their software is so not user-friendly and confusing.
But can cashboard keep track of expenses?

@randommail yeah it does a lot of stuff. I wrote it 7 years ago because I didn't like Freshbook or Harvest and they both didn't do estimates at the time.
Today it's used by lots of people all around the world. :)
It keeps track of expenses, and you can even rebill em to your clients. 14-day trial, etc etc...

concur as well, but i think its more for corporations etc. i'd do with mint.

Quickbooks self-employed might work for you.
- I've had such terrible experience with Quickbooks and Quicken over the years and for some reason each new version tends to get worse and worse...martinadolfsson
- They have so many flavors. This year connecting your banks was easy for me. Offers a clean web UI and mobile app with nice charts.omg

I use https://www.shoeboxed.com/.
It has a mobile app that allows me to take picture of receipts and categorize/archive them.
It also has a cool feature that lets you forward receipts in your email to your own @shoeboxed.com address for archival.
Their UI could use some work and I've experienced a few bugs with it. Overall pretty good, but I'm not 100% sold on it.

I've used these two with no complaints:
https://www.waveapps.com/account…
https://www.freshbooks.com/Wave doesn't have local apps as requested but Freshbooks has ios / android apps which are great
