I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and noticed that a number of fonts are appearing bolder then they should. Anyone know a fix?
Same problem as this:

I read a post that the OS might confuse non-Apple displays with CRT monitors and apply different font smoothing to them. I figured there must be a way to fix it.

Try this and restart:
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 1
Or this
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2

ah dont even need to restart, just restart finder.

Since upgrading to ML, my cursor disappears in photoshop constantly, my mail app refuses to make alert sounds, and photoshop becomes unresponsive when saving things as PDFs.

it just works.
