This thread is for debating and discussing evolution.
I'll start by saying that I am firmly in the "evolution happened on here Earth" camp.
If you haven't yet, you really should watch the first few episodes of Carl Sagan's "The Cosmos." The entire series is great, and whether you're a creationist or a supporter of evolutionary theory, you will probably thoroughly enjoy the richness of it regardless.

Here his is, speaking on this very subject:

There really isn't - old Teleos/Flagellum isn't around anymore. I suspect this Whhippp character might regurgitate some politicised nonsense but then show no ability to rationally debate a point..

To try to spin something up, then, I would pose the question:
Which of the opposing points - ie, against the current model of evolution through natural selection, gives you most cause to pause and consider ?

let's not
- We're all on the same side.
I think we argue best when it's about design stuff. : /mikotondria3 - and THAT'S too much like work for a Friday night.

The video posted above is more about adaptation than evolution. I like that my name was posted before even entering into the conversation.
Carl Sagan = Jeff Goldblum
I do not doubt adaptation and natural selection based on outside influencers. But, to say all of the multitudes of different types of life was created by chance from non-living matter miraculously is as far fetched as you all suggest creationism is. Throw the stories of the Bible and other different religions that state how the earth was made etc. I'm not debating a belief in stories in a book, but the truth about what science at this moment does not prove how or what started life, let alone for that matter what created the materials to even begin life.
In the end both are theories do not have concrete understanding both scientifically and religiously of how life began. Its all faith in the end.
You can say the stories are far fetched and ridiculously unexplainable scientifically etc... yadayada. I can say the same about how life began from non-living materials by chance.
Have at it.

its funny when people who deny evolution, are the ones who kind of need more of it
- wow tough one on me. damn! u got me there. no proof huh?whhipp
- I dont deny evolution as adaptation etc. But there is no answer to how life began. You dont have it neither do I.whhipp
- Hint: adaptation. Are you retarded or did you skip biology class? I know you didn't go to a good university..monospaced
- it has been proven and recreated by experience, something with acids and warm waterdrgs

Sounds good lets have at it. Abortion... is it a choice you hope your daughter ever has to make? Why or why not?

I just knew whhipp would be here.

i don't know if evolution happens or not but I'm willing to stick with the science trying to understand if it does rather than using ghost and supernatural stories to compensate for my lack of understanding.
- thats fine. i appreciate that explanation.whhipp
- Science says it does.
Now you know if it does. Good call on the non-ghost explanation. Didn't need it tho.mikotondria3

^ That's what's funny? What about, by the biblical account, the entire human race was born of incest and inbreeding. Adam and Eve's children procreating together.
