are there people that still can't believe conspiracies exist or happen?

    Event 201 - October 18, 2019

"In October 2019, a group of 15 business people, government officials, and health experts gathered around a table in New York to plan out the global response to a worldwide outbreak of a never-before-seen — and completely fictional — coronavirus." - https://futurism.com/neoscope/re…

    _________

    The Event 201 scenario

Event 201 simulates an outbreak of a novel zoonotic coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic. The pathogen and the disease it causes are modeled largely on SARS, but it is more transmissible in the community setting by people with mild symptoms.

The disease starts in pig farms in Brazil, quietly and slowly at first, but then it starts to spread more rapidly in healthcare settings. When it starts to spread efficiently from person to person in the low-income, densely packed neighborhoods of some of the megacities in South America, the epidemic explodes. It is first exported by air travel to Portugal, the United States, and China and then to many other countries. Although at first some countries are able to control it, it continues to spread and be reintroduced, and eventually no country can maintain control.

There is no possibility of a vaccine being available in the first year. There is a fictional antiviral drug that can help the sick but not significantly limit spread of the disease.

Since the whole human population is susceptible, during the initial months of the pandemic, the cumulative number of cases increases exponentially, doubling every week. And as the cases and deaths accumulate, the economic and societal consequences become increasingly severe.

The scenario ends at the 18-month point, with 65 million deaths. The pandemic is beginning to slow due to the decreasing number of susceptible people. The pandemic will continue at some rate until there is an effective vaccine or until 80-90 % of the global population has been exposed. From that point on, it is likely to be an endemic childhood disease.

'To friends who do and do not support my political views, take a few minutes to read this (verified) post from Heather Richardson, professor of History at Boston College.

"I don't like to talk about politics on Facebook -- political history is my job, after all, and you are my friends -- but there is an important non-partisan point to make today.

What Bannon is doing, most dramatically with last night's ban on immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries -- is creating what is known as a "shock event."

Such an event is unexpected and confusing and throws a society into chaos. People scramble to react to the event, usually along some fault line that those responsible for the event can widen by claiming that they alone know how to restore order.

When opponents speak out, the authors of the shock event call them enemies. As society reels and tempers run high, those responsible for the shock event perform a sleight of hand to achieve their real goal, a goal they know to be hugely unpopular, but from which everyone has been distracted as they fight over the initial event. There is no longer concerted opposition to the real goal; opposition divides along the partisan lines established by the shock event.

Last night's Executive Order has all the hallmarks of a shock event. It was not reviewed by any governmental agencies or lawyers before it was released, and counterterrorism experts insist they did not ask for it. People charged with enforcing it got no instructions about how to do so. Courts immediately have declared parts of it unconstitutional, but border police in some airports are refusing to stop enforcing it.

Predictably, chaos has followed and tempers are hot.

My point today is this: unless you are the person setting it up, it is in no one's interest to play the shock event game. It is designed explicitly to divide people who might otherwise come together so they cannot stand against something its authors think they won't like.

I don't know what Bannon is up to -- although I have some guesses -- but because I know Bannon's ideas well, I am positive that there is not a single person whom I consider a friend on either side of the aisle-- and my friends range pretty widely -- who will benefit from whatever it is.

If the shock event strategy works, though, many of you will blame each other, rather than Bannon, for the fallout. And the country will have been tricked into accepting their real goal.

But because shock events destabilize a society, they can also be used positively. We do not have to respond along old fault lines. We could just as easily reorganize into a different pattern that threatens the people who sparked the event.

A successful shock event depends on speed and chaos because it requires knee-jerk reactions so that people divide along established lines. This, for example, is how Confederate leaders railroaded the initial southern states out of the Union.

If people realize they are being played, though, they can reach across old lines and reorganize to challenge the leaders who are pulling the strings. This was Lincoln's strategy when he joined together Whigs, Democrats, Free-Soilers, anti-Nebraska voters, and nativists into the new Republican Party to stand against the Slave Power.

Five years before, such a coalition would have been unimaginable. Members of those groups agreed on very little other than that they wanted all Americans to have equal economic opportunity. Once they began to work together to promote a fair economic system, though, they found much common ground. They ended up rededicating the nation to a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people."

Confederate leaders and Lincoln both knew about the political potential of a shock event. As we are in the midst of one, it seems worth noting that Lincoln seemed to have the better idea about how use it.'

    Via Facebook.

not a conspiracy, but is it possible for the mods to check accounts that have been made just to poison the well?

I find it curious that for the past few weeks, we haven't had any real new users but some posts just get downvoted in a matter of minute,

maybe some people are just fed up, but this is a discussion forum and many of us have been here for more than a decade, I don't see why the new downvote button which actually does nothing to hide the message being said changes anything from before

either some people do not feel like certain subject should be discussed (which is somehow acceptable) or there is something afoot,

e.g: post something with one of my alt in fem thread, get no downvotes,
post the same thing with my account get 5 or more downvotes in less than 5 min,

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one noticing the weird downvotes,

I have even conducted a small experiment (sorry guys ehehe),
but I will randomly upvote every single post on a page to see which one will be sent back to zero and will do the same by downvoting every single post on a page and wait for the same.

when done in positive, the same users will be sent back to 0 or negative no matter the comment "gilgamush, yurimon, calles" have been users that I've seen get that treatment

when done in negative, some users that I won't name will have their accounts jump back in positive very fast, it's not even that discreet when you pay attention. some users will have 2 to 3 upvotes jumpstart no matter how boring their comments is, just pay attention and you will notice what I've been saying.

solution, I have found none yet.

    • I think the serial down voting is a way for the community to say, "don't post anything here ever again."monospaced
    • The fact that yuri gets immediate negative votes regardless of post translates to the fact that many people simply don't want him on QBN. At all.monospaced
    • That's just my take on the situation. I gave up using the votes a few days after they were introduced.monospaced
    • yeah me too,
but my point is that we'll all know each other and I don't see the point of downvoign someone when I could just ignore him
      GeorgesII
    • Perhaps to let them know they aren't wanted here anymore. There are a few people I would like gone for good and I know I'm not alone. I can tell by the votesmonospaced
    • Certain individuals have made it impossible to even discuss certain topics and they continue to ruin it for others. I'm waiting for them to leave or be banned.monospaced
    • For now it seems the down votes are all anyone can use to single them out? Mods won't ban people unless they spam though. Whatever.monospaced
    • Group think™ this community hates differing opinions.Hayoth
    • Not in the slightest, Hayoth. We hate pricks who make generalizations like that after everyone is fucking sick of their differing. and unoriginal, opinions.monospaced
    • Some people don't seem to get the clue, even when it's being screamed at them in all caps, that they not only get the point, that they're sick of it.monospaced
    • I'm downvoted by canadians mostly. Monospace is extremely biased. I'm glad hes not a mod.yurimon
    • showing who voted would fix this quickmoldero
    • reddit posts = instant downvote from me.fadein11
    • you must be a busy guy thats 80% of the site, but a bit slacking, canadian election 2015 hasnt seen much downvoting.yurimon
    • fadein, why would reddit be different from any other news aggregator, get a grip homie!GeorgesII
    • Not blaming the site - I am talking about the irrelevant junk you post on here from it.fadein11
    • Are you saying that it's the downvotes that are poisoning the well? Not the bullshit posts and 90+ sterile side comments but the mother fucking downvotes. +1 4UO0O0O0
    • anything thats true gets instant downvoted.yurimon
    • I've been bemoaning the -1 contingent for months now, to no avail. It's pointless and poisonous. Should be like HN where you have to be positive to be negative.detritus
    • https://31.media.tum…O0O0O0
    • Wuuurlstaaar. Make it visable who voted for what and 'problem' solved. Passive aggressive downvotes do nothing without accountabilitygilgamush
    • fadein, who made fuckn admin, some people really take this website way to seriously, don't you see how ridiculous you sound?GeorgesII
    • yeah, 000000 downvotes are what is poinsoning it, last time I checked, we're not living in fuckn SA and still have the right to say what we want, when we want..GeorgesII
    • Downvotes are stopping you from saying what you want? That's your argument?O0O0O0
    • I say we make a petition to get rid of downvotes. I will update this petition every week if that will bring peace.O0O0O0
    • that was an argument when i first got downvoted but now meh... get over your fear of being separated from the herd if you have it.yurimon
    • Yurimon is my friendO0O0O0
    • i automatically upvote anything yuri says that's not negativescarabin
    • i also tend to upvote shit that gets downvoted for no apparent reasonscarabin
    • I've put getting rid of downvotes to a vote twice and it has never gotten any support.

so you nutjobs heard about this september 23 2015 thing..

conspiracies range from Meteor about to come and wipe us out, to the LHR at Cern opening portals to the underworld..

Statements like “500 days to avoid climate chaos,” said by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said alongside Secretary of State John Kerry ..in which the date 500 days from when he said it also aligns with the september 23 2015 isnt helping..

Also apparently the Pope is visiting Washington DC that day..

One thing which i came across today while foraging in this rabbit hole, was the number 5125.. that whole Mayan calandar Buktun thing was 5125 years long.. but incidentally between September 11 2001 and September 23 2015.. is 5125 days.. which is also 120,000 hours..

strangely enough, i googled 123000 hours and september 11, and there was a hit..

    all i can say is..

    sup, numbers guy..

had a long conversation with a buddy of mine who works for SpaceX the other day about the Falcon 9 rocket. he says that elon has spent something like 20 million dollars trying to figure out why it exploded– they've tracked down footage from weather balloons, satellites, analyzed data down to the millisecond but there's simply no reason for it.

he says that they're considering the possibility that Lockheed Martin shot it down with their new laser, a move that would allow ULA to retain their monopoly. ULA has been butting heads with SpaceX hardcore and it would explain a lot.

    • militarization of space has been a big push. there was a document released justifying it. I think recently.yurimon
    • haha, I made a comment a couple of years back on another forum, wondering whether this sort of thing would start happening to ULA's competitors.detritus

Meghan and Harry never left the UK because of the treatment of her by the press. They actually left because Prince Andrew having been relieved of his duties and having much more time on his hands kept trying to pump Harry.
Harry not having a high enough ranking in the family was unable to spurn his advances and had to submit.
When Phill was well enough after having his weekly blood replacements, he would often oversee proceedings and scream 'That's my boy!' as a helpless Harry crumpled under the flabby thrusts of his wide eyed super shagger uncle.
