So to what extent should a church (and which church) be allowed to exert influence over government business, then whhipp ?
Ethically and legally.
Let's hear it.

It happens all day long. A president's/judge's/etc religious values has influence on our government. So did our founding fathers religion play a role in creating such a great country. So no I dont think they wanted to keep all religion values out of our government business. But, yes today we have been pushed beyond the correct interpretation of what was once meant to keep government out of religion and allow freedom of religion.
- You'd be shocked if you knew the truth about the founding fathers' religious views.waterhouse
- i would be more shocked if whipp actually looked it up.lambsy
- To what extent should all those religious 501 3(c)s be involved in politics ?mikotondria3

Romney kicked his ass tonight. Love it.

He did well tonight, I was surprised and impressed.
I think most people would still rather have "a beer" with Obama though.
Romney wasn't very nice.

@Whipp If by kicking ass you mean lying and repeating same shit that he has been flip flopping from the beginning while not giving any specific solutions but some imaginary math that pretty much everyone called mathematically impossible.. then yeah, I guess he nailed Obama.

I don't see a problem with voting in a church. They are not requiring you to be a member or participate in any rites of the church. So long as they're not influencing how you vote, who cares. If you are not a believer (and I am most certainly not) it's just a building and probably a centrally located building in the district which is usually why the pick the places they pick for voting stations. If you aren't strong enough in your beliefs or non-belief to the point where you can't even walk in the building, I feel bad for you (not that anyone here said it'd prevent them from voting)
- And damn you all for making me come out on whipps side of the issuelocustsloth

- Yeh, I agree with this, and I'm an non-voting atheist.mikotondria3

My voting location is in a church. Never had any problems with it, they've been good about having absolutely nothing political on the walls or anything.

That's it, I'm voting for Rmoney.

Yes, Romney was peppier and had better lines. I'm going all in on war with Iran and Medicare privatization.

Funding for PBS is what, .017% of the federal budget?
- vaxorcist0
Jim Leherer works for PBS....why he was kissing ass all night to Romney, so he can somehow work in a non-PBS future?!?
- ukit20
One thing that was funny about the debate was how hard Romney tried to present himself as moderate. He insisted he didn't want to cut taxes on the rich, even though that's exactly what his plan does. Said of course we need regulation, even though Wall Street is funding his campaign for exactly the purpose of ending regulations.
He shook the Etch a Sketch one more time but I don't know how anyone can really believe a word the guy says at this point.
- They both lack credibility. IF you look at obamas promises and earlier speeches. compareyurimon
