Believe it or not, Balmer is worth more than the Jobs estate $15.7b:
http://www.forbes.com/profile/st…Jobs Famliy $9b.
http://www.forbes.com/profile/la…Had Jobs not sold off his 1985 Apple stock, he would have been worth around $56-$57b. Almost up to Gate's $61b.
Granted, I know Job's core motivation was not money. Just find it interesting.

good job. but it way too inspired from Apple. Seriously.
And the "i" of microsoft without the dot is really bugging me. All i see is 'crosoft' for some reason.

Maybe... maybe this could be a(nother failed) QBN project. We rebrand Microsoft.
- animatedgif0
Rebranding something is easy if you don't have to deal with a client or any corporate goals at all.
This is the design equivalent of having a wank
- nothing wrong with having a wank though... you just shouldn’t feel like you’ve accomplished something difficultpressplay
- Yeah totallyanimatedgif
- mekk0
this rebranding approach has nothing to do with microsoft in any way

Their shit still does not work right!
A lifetime of fails....
- Sounds like another fanboy.ETM
- I think you're the fanboy if you can't recognize Microsoft's ongoing failing in the tablet/mobile/pc departement.non
- And I'm a certified pc technician.non
- I don;t put a stake in any company. I work on Macs and PCs. I own an iPad and Iphone. I might own a Win Phone next.ETM
- Phone if I like it better. As a grown up, I don't feel the need to vehementlyjustify my commercial purchases.ETM
- Ahh, give the bald guy a break. It's prolly pretty hard to do that standing, holding the tablet like that. I'm sure the pull down works.fyoucher1
- ...works.fyoucher1

In response to above:
- Happens to everyone. Technology is a bitch.ETM
- If you use both platforms for a long period of time, you can judge. I have, with both, and claim..non
- without hesitation, that Apple makes a better product all around.non
- I have both on my desk right now. I have used both since 2001 for work as neither does everything well.ETM
- I used them long enough to know the horrors of 3.1 and ME, as well as the horribly unstable System 7.ETM
- So reserve your judgements about my usage when you have no idea what you are on about.ETM
- My computer usage goes back 20+ years. Just only used both simultaneously for the last 10 or 11.ETM
- Same here.non
- That's super. I never made assumptions about you.ETM

Aside from the vaguely Apple-esque usage of astronomical graphics, I think the work in the original link is pretty damn good - especially if it's from a young'un.
Good stuff... and good to see someone with a creative bent take a stab at a rebrand for a company that is essentially reviled by all the 'free-thinkers' out there.
MS have made a fuckload of cockups this past decade, and Ballmer really should get fucking trebuched into the sea, but they're a respectable form of competition — with a bit of corporate-cultural surgery to get them to stop thinking of themselves as righteous corporate incumbent behemoth, they could actually do some good things this next decade.
- I really like this mote about skeumorphism vs digital - that's bang on, imho. http://www.minimally…detritus
- yeah, but that wasn’t his idea - microsoft came up with this "pure digital"-thingpressplay
- which I think is a bold step and it was about timepressplay

Microsoft Blames $6.2B Write-Off on Weak Online Ad Division
Despite recent moves that have generated a rosy glow around Redmond, Microsoft still has its pain points. Its pricey acquisition of online ad firm aQuantive, for one, has resulted in a $6.2B charge. "I don't think Microsoft really knew what they were buying back in 2007," said investment analyst Andrew Thrasher. "They saw Google and Yahoo making major acquisitions and didn't want to be left behind."
- The entire company is an EPIC failure!utopian
- How old are you to not comprehend what MS (and Apple) has done for the PC industry, historically?ETM
- They're scrambling for sure. But Apple was a pile of shit 10 years ago. Do you not recall that?ETM
- Now Apple is a juggarnaut of consumer goods (which most are excellent). But that could again change.ETM
- Everything is a cycle. I for one am waiting for Amiga to come back. :)ETM

Here's Why Microsoft's Tablet Could Be BAD for Business
- jfletcher0
That's guy shit is always amazing (the website posted at the start)... and he's still in school!
- pressplay0
my post wasn’t about microsoft but on another students attempt at rebranding a huge company... this one was exeptionally lame...
- jfletcher0
pressplay - really? for 3 days work in between other work? How many students you know can do this well. Please point me to them... I'll hire them!
The guy is super talented.

I just realized that the opposite of "Microsoft" is "Massivehard".
- antagonlsta0
wow utopian, you really have something personal against Microsoft. so blind you are with your petty bullshit that you can't even spot the true threat to your beloved apple company.
ill give you some time to copy and paste a response. im sure finding your opinion takes time, the internet is a big place.
