My lady just got an iPhone today at work. It's her first one but she's certainly used mine a bit here and there.
Any good tips come to mind for a first time user?

New Instagram if you press and hold the camera icon it will load the photo library screen.

You can take photos on the built in camera app by pressing the volume buttons (not sure if both, try them).

Don't use diamonds for screen nav.
They don't work and they scratch the glass.

If you are using an app that involves lots of scrolling (eg, twitter, contacts, etc)... if you tap the clock at the very top, it automatically brings you back to the top of your list. Works for any app.

You can program people's phone numbers in, so you don't have to remember them. The phone does it for you.

Make sure she puts a passcode on it so you can't see her sexy messages to other guys.

if you have a 4S, you can associate names with labels, for example, say "call my girlfriend", and it will ask you who it is. select the contact, then from there on, you can just say call my girlfriend. Do that for any label (husband, wife, brother etc).

Hold to the Top button then Press the Home button to Screen Grab.

when someone calls, you can press the top button to kill the sound and vibrate, press it again and it will reject the call.

female has higher rate dropping them in the toilet...double tap home button and swipe the bottom row take you to music control without going in "music"

Double top the home button then swipe the bottom controller left, turn on the portrait lock because landscape mode is 95% useless.

Listen to youtube videos while doing other stuff. Play video, come out of it, go into (for example) safari. Double tap home button, swipe left and press play. Video (music) will play in background.

Get onavo extend to save data each month. It really helps, I went over my limit 17 days into my first month on the new contract, installed this and haven't gone over since (5-6 months).
