and how often does that happen? if they want to do something, they do it in closed doors on the bases of national security and national security council being closed doors.more or less public move to show the international community that they are serious. and US did an oppsy by not securing the cables. more or less just a show.

trying to think how this would translate into one of those wacky "Fosters Australian For Beer".... "Assange Australian For _____"

anyone know why austrailian government hasn't intervened?

Lets not forget the real story here.
The US wants to punish they guy for wikileaks.
This rape stuff is obviously a big lie.Come on people open your eyes.
- 20020
and you are dumb enough to follow that narrative.
- Come on its so obvious. The US wants to send out a message that you can't question the 1%qTime
- the obvious narrative is usually the wrong one.2002
- Oh well you can believe that but when the 1% turn the US into a Chinese slave house don't complain.qTime
- see my note below.2002
- so what 2002 is saying is that 9/11 was an inside job.TheBlueOne
- you know, the obvious narrative is probably wrong.TheBlueOne
- qTime0
This is what happens when you stand up to the 1%!

"Why is no one asking incompetence of UK police on trailing him? No one is asking because they let it happen. Its beyond character assassination. By discrediting him, it discredits wikileaks. He is just playing in to the game."
but nobody can reasonally expect 20+ head 24/7 police detail on some asshole who is out on bail and has no passport?
but his escape is not even morally questionable?
his not giving a shit about the lifes of afghan informers ("let's not redact the army intel stuff. let them die, they are rats anyway. truth above all.") is the morally questionable thing, and that's out in the open?
no one is asking what the problem with the ecuadorians is. they disrespect UK courts/law atm. by granting policital asylum they also disrespect SWE cours/law atm. unprofessional move for ideological reasons (anti-US reflex).

If anyone has a right to be paranoid, he does
If I told you the U.S. had a plan to spy on and obtain DNA samples of U.N. diplomats, it sounds like a crazy conspiracy, but it was in the cables that were released.

"First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me"

"but nobody can reasonally expect 20+ head 24/7 police detail on some asshole who is out on bail and has no passport?"
if he was some random guy, sure, I can see that but his case is rather publicized.
this is my thing. him going to sweden will cause more headache to US. if he goes to jail there, people will scream conspiracy. if he gets taken to US, people will scream conspiracy.
why not let him just rot and mentally screw him over?

'“The government of Ecuador, faithful to its tradition of protecting those who seek refuge in its territory or in its diplomatic missions, has decided to grant diplomatic asylum to Julian Assange,” said Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, reading from a government communiqué at a news conference in the Ecuadorean capital, Quito. He added, “There are indications to presume that there could be political persecution,” and that Mr. Assange would not get a fair trial in the United States and could face the death penalty there.'

Even Ecuador knows the US wants him.

you mad bro?
- qTime0
Lets just hope that someone will take his place if he goes.

"why not let him just rot and mentally screw him over?"
probably exactly what's going to happen anyway.
UK delivers him to SWE in the end, SWE will find him guilty, but no jail time. b/c not that great an offense.
US won't find legal grounds to charge him with anything (unfortunately).
delusional ego-whore that assange is, he will continue to look for spotlight from safe haven in s-america ever after. mentally screwing is not necessary b/c he's already a legitimate nutcase.

Ironic that Polanski is still free when what he is accused of was much worse

"Mr. Assange would not get a fair trial in the United States and could face the death penalty there"
in theory reasonable, but not in reality. they do not even seek death penalty for manning. and that case is a flawless, perfect case of 1st degree treason. ecuadorians need to get over themselves..
