I want to upgrade my fiance's Macbook - she's still on Lion - and obviously I need to upgrade to Snow Leopard first.
I still have my old Snow Leopard install disc from my old MBP that i don't use anymore. Is it legit for me to use that disc to upgrade her computer, then upgrade digitally to Lion? Even if there were an issue with it being on multiple devices, surely on the old MBP I could just upgrade it to Lion as well and I'd only have Snow Leopard on one device, right?
Thanks.

just do itâ„¢

hold on. lion is 10.6, isn't that the version most people are complaining about?

I have Lion on my current MBP and have no complaints. She doesn't care so much about what's on hers, I just think it's time to upgrade it and get the benefits of the newer OS versions.

sorry, i was thinking of Snow Leopard. (so, never mind).

Install disks are specific to the machine they came with, from what I remember. You'll need a cracked installed or universal install or whatever.

if you format you can go right to Lion. have to format though..

I have a copy of Snow Leopard purchased on its own. It did not come with a computer.
I realize Lion is $40. Do you realize you can't go from Leopard to Lion? I have to install Snow Leopard first.
