As a great inspiration in a lot of my creative endeavors, I never personally met Hillman. But I felt I knew him through his work.

Such a shame. MITV is an incredibly and refreshingly practical book. Like mg33 said, he made all that technical stuff make sense and serve a purpose.
Ive never met him, but from what i have seen, for a world famous multi-disciplinary designer, he always seemed very very humble.
Very sad.

massive misunderstanding dude, just flashed my phone, i hadn't had flash installed, so it displayed the flash error (blue lego brick type thing). So I thought you had posted that image. Which in one way could be sincere, saying he kinda represented flash and did so much for it. But on the other hand it could be malicious saying the death of flash was the death of him. Total misunderstanding, sry dude.
Thanks for the vid :)

He was one of the most influential figures early in my career. I found a lot of inspiration through his work. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing, but I hope his family and friends find peace in knowing his works and passion touched many people in which he lives on through them.

I met him and Joshua Davis back in 2000, I can literally track my progress of my design and art from that week in NYC. Within a few months I stopped making excuses and moved here...wonderful inspiration, generous guy. Navigated the commercial and artistic with amazing humility.
You'll be missed.

"I originally went to school for creative writing and film," he said. "I then spent 10 years pursuing music, and, after failing at that, I did various random jobs. I got into design out of desperation -- I didn't want to wait tables or pound nails."
