Wow!
Haven't kept track of him since college. When his website went up with all the artist series really got me inspired.Hope this is a joke or a publicity stunt.

Right when I first starting learning interactive stuff I remember reading one of his books. I think I learned how to use Flash from it.

Read his books for Flash - was the beginning of my journey into web/interactive. Sad. RIP. Too young.

Here's a good primer...
"Hillman Curtis is built like an elite endurance athlete - sinewy and towering. He speaks in a gentle voice with an undercurrent of hard-won confidence. This makeup serves him well, as he can perhaps be best described as a decathlete of creative pursuits. Whatever the event - be it design, web, writing or film - he has shape-shifted and doggedly worked his way to the top over and over again."

I LOVED that book he put on in the early 2000s. I was in college, getting into multimedia, design, etc. and it was the perfect thing to inspire me and see computers as something even more fun than I saw them already. Just being inspired was and is a huge thing to me, and he did it really well.
It's tough to see people die young at that age. I'm 34. When he was 34, did he in his wildest imagination ever thing he might have 16 years left, or wonder what he'd do with them? Stuff like that weighs heavy on my mind sometimes.
- i had this one http://www.amazon.co…moldero
- Yep, that was it. That book made all the technical knowledge make sense, and serve a purpose.mg33
