Since I left and started my own agency I have been spending five great months designing from head to toe the app and website for Snapguide.

Just received app of the week today also.
Such a good team I worked with and the product has so much legs. Excuse me for my excitement, but it is not often you get to design and launch a real product in our world of advertising based projects it feels.

Also, leaving and starting your own agency is bold in itself!

how long did it take you guys to pool enough content to begin release? i've just started going through it, and it seems to be fairly in-depth (as far as the amount of guides that are already in there).

I was on the project for 5 months, they were on it for a few months longer.
We did beta invites for content. There actually is not as much as we wanted, but a ton has been created today already. I think it will grow over time and we will be working on organization more (that already has been in the works) and other features for usability. But our hope is the main way to share will be through social means and discovery or people following people because they become leaders in that area.
Either way it will be fun to evolve it.

oh for sure. i'm sure it will explode within the next week. especially being featured on techcrunch and the like.
well again, great job. this will be quite handy.

Congrats! Very inspiring and seems to fit a niche that I've not seen an app for before. I've got some ideas floating around that I'd love to just up and take on if I had the time and money and people.

If you add the ability to create groups of curated guides, you may have the next cookbook industry on your hands.
Nice work!

Yup, lots more like that to come. First was to make a solid app and see if it gets used. It's a balance between features vs time. Dont want to do too much and have it tank. Gotta find that good balance of needs and some wants to get it out there to see if it takes off, then keep making it better.
But for a first launch it is pretty nice!

Well so far it's really nicely put together, the site is nice and clean and the concept seems solid to me. I reckon it will go gangbusters :)

when in the blog the home link on the logo doesn't work.

great work, totally understand the excitement of being able to do something like this while working in an advertising concept. I'm jealous! :P
